I'd appreciate more details - can you file a bug report, describing symptoms in detail and include your system specs?

Check 4 accounts and launch selected.

4 movies at once, all full screen is a bit challenging for the ears as well as on the pc.

Issue: Laucher can forget settings in 'Settings 1' preset.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install launcher from scratch, no old AppData and etc files. Really from scratch.
2. Open launcher, do login. Do NOT touch settings combobox, it should point to 'Settings 1'
3. Start EVE client, select character, configure graphics, move windows, do some changes.
4. Close EVE client, start it again, verify that changes are saved.
5. Select 'Settings 2'
6. Start EVE client, close EVE.
7. Return back to 'Settings 1'
8. Start EVE client - all configuration things from step (3) is forgotten. I have to configure it again.

As I see from outside, from the begining 'Settings 1' uses 'settings' as folder. When I switch to 'Settings 2', then it creates settings_2. When I switch back, then instead of using old 'settings' folder it creates new one 'settings_1'

UP: I'll duplicate it in https://community.eveonline.com/support/submit-bug-report - EBR-50306

Don't know if someone asked before but will this new launcher have the "latest news" window too?

Feature request:
- remember client's windows positions in settings.
- GUI to copy configurations between characters in one 'Settings X' preset. Between character(s) (one or some) in different settings presets. Ability to copy whole preset or explicit character's configurations between Tq, Sisi, Duality.

I was able to successfully install the new launcher, and it looks great (still missing EVE time ;) )

However, when I launched the game.. all the client settings were reset. So I launched with old launcher.. original settings still there.

Looking at the directories.. original Eve launcher/client is located in;
C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/eve online

(I installed the new launcher to the same directory as original launcher, just created a new folder called "New_Launcher")

however the new launcher is opening from the directory;
F:/Eve Online/prime cache/tq

^^ "F:/Eve Online/prime cache" is where I keep all the resource files

Any idea why the new launcher is opening from a new client directory I didn't even know I had? And where can I copy my current client settings into new launcher/client so I don't have to redo everything?

I only use the launcher when I can't boot with direct startup due to a patch being deployed. Because I really dislike the launcher with a passion, knowing how great eve was doing in the past without a poopy launcher.
So there I saw the announcement in the launcher so here are my quick questions, haven't looked at any of the pages:

Are you going to kill direct-client launch when this launcher ships? If so, I'm going to be super sad for many reasons.

Is the new launcher less of a random resource hog at times?

It looks like it will patch multiple installations simultaneously, so that is at least one improvement I can clearly see.

The preview looks less than stellar. Two huge advertisements on the bottom but no showcase of how it will ACTUALLY look with all the news items and stuff? That alone puts me off from even trying to install that test version.

What was the reason again why you had to come up with a launcher years ago when everything else worked fine? We had a lot more space for news items and even a random tip area to scroll through on the bottom with actually helpful things like "ctrl+space stops the ship". And we had really pretty fullscreen login vistas. I'm staring at the same static piece of space for so long I can't even remember how long :c

I have an Alienware rig now running Win10.

I have had no issues at all with the new launcher.

On another note, massive thanks for the new launcher, I love it. The fact that I can now visit the test server is a BIG bonus.

Thanks guys, have a beer on me Big smile

I know where to find my current settings (saved them just in case), but not sure where to put them. I don't have any directory such as "tq_**.***.**.***" that has any settings files.

And I don't remember there being a "tq" folder inside the cache folder. This folder contains the .exe file and the rest of those folders/files. But my original launcher is not linked to those client files. Bit confusing :/

the "Tq_***" folder should show up in "appdata/local/ccp/eve" for me the folder is called : "c_programdata_ccp_eve_sharedcache_tq_87.237.38.200"

inside that is (after i initsialli ran the launcher and logged into eve first time ) folder called "settings" where i pasted my settings files.

I like the new launcher! :)

Some minor improvements could make it top notch though:

- Being able to add info on each account, so I can remember my similar account names from each other. I read someone suggest thumbnails of the characters on each account, that would be great.

- Somehow be able to select the ingame-specific-character, UI, icons, windows placement and so forth and reuse it on another character.

Is it possible to switch characters on same acc without a need to close the client?
If not then I would like to understand why is that not the case?

(I haven't had the time reading through the complete thread so please forgive me if this has already been discussed)

I have remark on multiple accounts, am I correct by saying accounts are only added to the list if you choose "remember me"'? Like the launcher tells you this is insecure but afaik this is the only way to remember the accounts. Would it therefore be possible to add a "Master" password to the launcher which protects your saved logins. Could be a validation against an account you have marked a primary account or could be a totally independent password or even a pin code of 4 digits just to have some level of protection

If remember me is not selected would also be to auto-populate the list with the account / username after the first time you have logged in (without storing passwords)

As long as the server still expects the character (ID) to persist during a session, you have to close that one and connect with a new one to log in a different character.
The launcher added some convenience for establishing connections to the server, but the client did'nt change much.

A fantastic start. Thank you very much.

So far it's working.

I'm hoping the frequently request "Renaming & Management" includes letting me name wholes sets like "dreadnoughts" and "blops team" and "supercapitals" and "bombers" and to reorder those sets in the list as my gameplay changes over time.
