Is there going to be an option to move the cache/settings folders? I don't like them on my C drive and would rather have them on my RAID array.

Press E on top left of window and from there "Shared Cache". It is window with move option and to check cache.

Not the Shared Cache, I mean the AppData folders.

I see. Why won't you move whole home folder for that matter? Also you can use symlinks to get data to different location.

My games are on a 1TB partition not C, including EvE. Moving the users folder is a pita.

Is there any way to migrate settings from the old launcher to the new launcher given that settings are wiped when using the new launcher?

I'm right behind you

CCP Devs pls take a look into my Post about some launcher Installation issues
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=6082584#post6082584

next point: i play in window mode and sometimes Windows stick all Clients together in Taskbar, i can most of the time avoid this while starting Clients slowly after each other

using Multilaunch all stick togehter and i can not sort my Clients how i want
maybee i am to stupid for this XD
(dont know if this is a Windows Problem and how i can solve it)

Looks pretty good to me. I really like how my account(s) and managing them(it) is taking center stage and the ads/news go to the side. Are you even bringing tho news back? I don't miss them.

Although, switching between servers does not copy the account list? That seems counterintuitive. Why not have the same list for all servers?

That sounds more like a Windows issue.

Right-click your task bar, select Properties, and on the Taskbar tab (it should be the default tab), click the dropdown next to Taskbar Buttons and select Never Combine. http://puu.sh/kAJFA/55dcdb41e7.png

Additionally, I am connecting from a shoddy internet, but I am getting a lot of blank boxes with no feedback about whether or not content is still loading. A default spinner when things are loading would be very nice.

Great work on the launcher I like it. One small question. I run multiple accounts which I play in a windows mode. If I run them in full screen mode how do I switch between them?

I expect to get this post deleted or locked. So much for freedom of expression.

DevBlog say several words at the “Some technical details” part. Ok, ok… Unfortunately, I did not understand the technical parte, but I understand that could be some problems. So, since I am not a technical computer person, I need some guidance.

My shared cache folder are in the same folder the installation of the game are. It is something like C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE (game files) and C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\SharedCache (cache files).

Are the new launcher automatically fix the entire permissions problem by itself or do I need to move my share cache folder to somewhere else? If yes, to where? Another HD or only another folder at same system SSD?

Sorry for my noobeness. Thank you for the new launcher and all the efforts to make the game experience better.

I've been maintaining a Bittorrent of the off-line installer.

By far the biggest problem is people with really poor Internet connections; sufficient to play EVE, but slow and unreliable for downloads.

Example: It is not unusual for me to see people downloading the client at under 10 kB/sec.

The blog mentions doing full-file downloads, which I find worrying. Does it break the file into smaller chunks, and individually transfer, verify the chunk, and repeat the transfer if verification fails?

Also, people like to be able to suspend and restart the download, especially if it is a long and slow process.

Otherwise the new launcher isn't going to solve this issue.

if you really wanna kill the exefile you somehow need to get this window management / window-hotswapping together with allocating dedicated system ressources to clients done as this is the only reason keeping me with isboxer

eve-o preview is a nice alternative which works quite good together with the new launcher, but it doesnt have the ressource limiting. Right now the problem (specially with lower-specced pc's) is that when you wanna do serious multiboxing, you kinda have to have isboxer for this feature, cause otherwise the active client has a habit to allocate a LOT RAM / VRAM compared to the inactive clients, which can lead to serious lag spikes upon to a socket close when swapping to another client. Thanks to multithreading CPU isnt as much of an issue. You can even hide this under "advanced Settings" of some sort, dont know

TL;DR: Please Add the Option to Limit RAM/Ressources allocated to each client if you wanna get rid of the exefile

I tried running the new launcher 'exe' from the current Eve installation folder.... got an error message saying "No Disk in Drive". I haven't seen this issue reported yet....

I did a reboot, and this error message is gone, but now when I try to run the .exe file, nothing happens, even when running 'as administrator'. Does it need to be run from a specific location?

Okay it turns out it is much worse than i thought

it launches clients completely randomly in the wrong order.. this completely defeats the point of me using it if its not gona work in the correct order

so till then im going to have to use the old launcher since it completely ruins the way most people multi box using 1 screen etc

I'll need to look into that. That sounds like a perfect reason to request a 4K monitor...

Can you change the windows system tray icon so it's distinct from the main client? Now that it's actually useful to leave the launcher open while playing the game it would be nice to be able to quickly see which is your eve client(s) and which is the launcher.

Confirmed -- got the fright of today when I nearly mixed the 2 up.
