Hi Folks:

I run EVE on LInux under Wine (v1.7.50, set to Windows 7 emulation). I installed the new launcher and it crashed immediately upon running.

I can provide details and a stack trace in case any Dev is interested. I understand an emulated environment is certainly not your first concern!

You are right, technically we don't support Linux, but I'll see what I can do. Hopefully we'll sort this out at least before going out of beta.

Is this happening on TQ for you? I'm seeing slow response on SISI because the SSO there is really slow at the moment.

This is with TQ forums and stuff load almost instantly in the browser so it is probably not the Internetconnection. Also adding new accounts takes like 10 secs between each step.

Is the launcher downloading files while you're experiencing this issue?

Does loading https://launcher.eveonline.com/ work as slowly for you?

The UI is delivered as a static website from the CloudFront CDN, and the log-in form should be identical to the older launcher, so we would like to narrow down what could be causing the slow loading.

There is no Steam integration yet.

There is currently no steam integration with the new launcher, but you may use it with a Steam Account if you do the steps in this article:

Please be patient - Steam integration is not there yet. It will of course be there in the final version.

Am I right in assuming there is no way we can pull the settings from %localappdata%\CCP\eve and have it imported in?

Edit - Just seen the note in the Dev blog. Any ETA on when that tool will be released for converting settings for the beta launcher?

Brilliant work on the launcher. Should of been what the splash launcher was in the first place.

Bug/Feature or Technical Need? pls Fix it

wanted to nstall the launcher in
F:\Eve & Co\Launcher

Eve is in
F:\Eve & Co\Eve Online

Installation Setup told me i cant install the Launcher in Eve Installation Directory^^ (it is clearly NOT the Eve Installation Directory)
for now is in F:\Eve Launcher but in Future i realy want it in same Maindirectory pls

next Question/Point is can we (later) pls choose directory where the Game Setting are stored? (like shared Cache Settings)

Because it is more easy to move the whole installation & launcher & settings & shared cache to a new PC/Laptop/Hardrive/Directory
(or even copy/backup the Settings to a second Pc/Laptop)

In this case it would also be great if a Installation Setup for the Launcher and later the Launcher can be pointed to new Directorys and he find "old" installations there.

Just copy/paste them in the new directory. Folder "settings" is "Settings 1", folder "settings_2" is "Settings 2", etc.
This doesn't work.. don't know why.

Seems you can get it working under Wine already.

Launcher says ready in the bottom so I guess it's not loading anything that links loads fast but each time the launcher is started it takes a lot of time to load the content again.

Btw is there a way to import old settings for those presets or would we need to redo everything.

Could we have a setting so we can add a paremeter line for each client (windows size/position is mostly what im interessted in)

so when launching multiple clients, everything is already placed where you want it. (a la isboxer) if you see what i mean.

edit: it seems to have issues loading (white window, nothing in it)

Stated in the dev blog that presets cannot be copied over currently and will be making a tool for this to happen.

So far very very cool. Few things (excuse the double mentions)

- Changing settings names :)
- It doesn't seem to capture which screens for which clients when using multiple monitors. Tried a number of ways to get this to work but couldn't.

Copying the old settings in the new folder did the trick for me.

Super news :)

From somebody that is absolutely non tech savvy, Computers really are my bane, so please bare with me, reading from the blog I am under the impression that I would be able to download/use the test server(s) from the one launcher alongside my Tranquillity instance.
Is this correct ?

I have never before, despite wanting too, attempted to download the test server features, the process genuinely confuses me, to be able to at last use such features would be a tremendous boon for the likes of myself.

We are talking about the ones in %localappdata%\CCP\eve

Where did you copy the folder too?

Yes, you understood this correctly. Install this and go crazy on the test servers :)
