Problem I had with hi level implant is that you get too comfortable in them. Decided to start exploring wormholes and had a really hard time jumping myself out of that pimped clone. Still have nightmares about all that SP I'm missing, OMG! Shocked

I know this is a bit tangent to your question, but I couldn't help but notice and comment.

You should not use your LP to buy implants, they are about the worst thing you can use your LP on - best thing to do is buy the implants from the market and use your LP to buy stuff from the LP store that gives a better return than implants and sell those on the market.

As for the value of implants, if you are only going to play the game for a month and then quit, I guess you can skip them, but if you plan on playing the game for any length of time then you want to get +4s at least (+3s if you get podded a lot and +5s if you are rich and or never get podded)..
