Also, why do people keep picking over my goggles? They are cool and part of my "Yarr, I be a Pirate" look, yet people just keep asking why I use them!

They are a fashion statement with pratical scientifical applications! You silly people, you.

Eye protection. They keep things out but do nothing about things that come from the inside.

Don't you people ever use protective goggles for anything?

Finding any use for eye protection is not a simple task for those who got no eyes.

What is civilization, and what are its enemies?

A slave is whipped until she isn't able to stand. The sun of Kador Prime sits over a low point in the horizon, and perhaps even it is apprehensive about staring for too long at the scene. Blood is spattered on the pole used as a tether, and all over the fertile brown soil of our Holdership, drenching the leather of the Foreman's whip and what's left of her clothes. Except for her low whimpering, only the sound of cicadas can be heard.

Is that civilization?

We sip some tea and mask our feelings about its slightly coppery taste. Our host who sits across from us with legs crossed may take offense at displeasure caused by her special preparation of blood tea. On one hand, the taste of blood is repugnant to the human palate. On the other hand, licking our own wounds and surviving a beating was a victory dance we carried from our former life as a slave. The girl that serves our tea is Jin-Mei, like we are.

There is a hint that her presence here is non-consensual and that both her body and her mind is subjected to sanguine indignities and discomforts. And yet, we cannot help but think that a part of her enjoys being here, being pricked, and asphyxiated, and whatever else a Sabik imagination could subject her to. Could we have been her in another life?

Is that civilization?

We are not sure of the answer. Perhaps we are all barbarians who should be dragged off by our hair from our high perches. Perhaps the so-called enemies of civilization are just a reflection of the civilized societies they once came from. Perhaps we will all get what is coming to us.

"Civilization" is an illusion. There is no "civilization", only varying shades and brands of barbarism.

The baseliners in the four Empires, yes, they are.

But the capsuleers... no. Just "barbarians" doesn't cut it.

Good people of the Intergalactic Summit, hear me.

At a first look, I may look uninitiated in capsuleer matters or politics, but I am not blind. I can see the ailments of our fair forum of communication. And we stand at the edge of a precipice! The enemies of civilization are at our doorsteps and threaten all that is good and decent.

I speak of the pirates! Of the Blood Raiders, the Sansha and the Guristas. Of monsters that crave, beget and consume suffering.

These capsuleer fiends walk among us with impunity, without fear of reprisal or justice for their actions. Yesterday three of these creatures were discussing how to torture and slay innocents with unspeakable means, in plain sight freely for all to see, for profit and unsavory intentions. I talked with others that informed me that this travesty has been going on for long and not one soul has stepped up to challenge them. Even now they announce their ritual sacrifices and homicidal practices, the crimes they commit and their sabotage of New Eden's civilized nations. It is one thing to tolerate the outlaws of Null and Low Security space that are more interested in bringing suffering to themselves and each other, while bickering for resources and power. But this? This is an whole level of sick depravity!

As insult to injury, it seems DED authorities cling to their neutrality and refuse to intervene!

Are we supposed to let them corrupt our outlet of ideas and cultural exchange? Are we to let them walk in the light with their malice tainting our mind's eye? No! I refuse! I will not stand for this!

People of the Summit, we must unite against the pirate scum and show them that their wayward ways are not welcome here. By force if necessary. I ask for everyone's support in this endeavor. No, I beg of you for your assistance. For all that is decent and good!

Glory to the Caldari State;

Major Yarosara Ruil of the State Peacekeepers

Your dedication to the State is admirable, and your anger at the current state of affairs is understandable. However, you should familiarize yourself with the practical concerns necessary to fulfill your proposal before embarking on a personal waste of resources. To that end, when you have discovered the locations of all the various pirate controlled cloning facilities and have stripped said capsuleers of their capsuleer status, please inform us and we would be happy to assist.

It seems that all you have to do is to tap gently on the wall for the vermin to come crawling out of the woodworks. Then the philosophers and wordsmiths come along.

I'll make my stance on this matter perfectly clear for everyone.

Aligning yourself and supporting factions (pirate scum or otherwise) that held depraved values as their creed is your choice alone to make, and justice will one day bring the reckoning you deserve. Due to the rules imposed by DED, you are free to support your faction and held their colors as you see fit. I really don't care if you are a Blood Raider swine or a Guristas buffon, in fact, announcing yourself as a supporter of those factions only makes it easier to hunt you down.

However... Sadism, depravity, debauchery, hedonism and disregard for human life are not valid political stances. Announcing them in earshot to provoke a reaction only serves to display the obvious kind of monster you are. And these displays of depravity should have no place in this communication feed. I don't care how many slaves you summarily executed last sunday, the amount of galons of blood you drink each semester or how many corpses you keep in a refrigiration unit. No sane person should.

If you are privy or in need to share these kinds of particular information, you should do it in privates feeds with your kind. If you want to share a particulary display of commitment to your cause, be free to share with us all, along with the exact coordenates of the place it took place so the proper authorities can hunt you down like dogs. But keep the gory descriptions to yourself.

Angel Cartel and Serpentis Corporation are irrelevant to this issue. They waddle around in Republic and Federation territory and that's where drug swindling filth like them belong. The same can be said to the Outlaws of Low and Nullsec, that somehow felt threatend by my open letter as if my disapproval was even remotely addressed to them. Their hubris is outstanding in this remark.

Unlike the groups I hold issues against, these vulgars have at least something resembling a moral compass, and do not commonly gloat about the atrocities they commit towards humankind nor do they commit said atrocities unless it presents them with a profit margin. This at least I can respect. Blood Raiders and Sansha on the other hand don't seem to have the same reservations.

As for those that clinge to apathy and innaction, yet find themselves agreeing with what I said, are as much as guilty of this state of affairs as those contribuiting to it.

Respectfully, ever go to Hel Beach or really any planetside beach for that matter? If so I'm sure you made at least a pile of sand, maybe a sand castle. How long did that last? Few hours maybe before the tide took it out to sea I'd imagine. Now your sitting next to an ocean of stars sitting on your beach (in a station) playing with your sand (your morals). It's only time before the ocean crushes your sand castle, with the tide being what's going on around you. Fight it all you want, dig a channel around it whatever. But in the end the tide will prevail. Might as well get used to that fact. If not, well.... Good luck fighting it.

With this double-standard you shed what credibility you might have otherwise earned. The Gallente did not build both their formidable naval strength nor their robust economic presence in some centuries-long drug-induced haze. The Cartel preys specifically upon the Minmatar refugees in their weakest and most desperate time.

Your statement is in bad taste and is not in keeping with the moral teachings that have made our State strong. You make a poor representative for our people.

Ah the mistaken truths and small lies of young pilots. You should polish up your history first, and look around second.

There are, in fact, Cartel allies around.
And so are people who deal with the Serpentis Corporation.

Oh, please, this is the IGS, all you have to do is breathe on the glass and the spammy wordsmiths come along. It's what we're here for: writing backwards on your mirror. Honestly, if you were at all surprised by this, you're being more foolish than Annie Funkibutt over there, pining for Nauplius.

Buffoon. I'd have let it slide, but since you're calling people out for wordsmithing, I thought I'd at least get a few whacks in at the old anvil on this one. So, Buffoon, not buffon. Buffon sounds like some kind of Gallente fabric. 'Oh, yes, dear, I'd love to see that silk number again, perhaps with a bit more buffon about the cuffs, do you think?'

Gallons, and refrigeration. See above. Also among the offenses you cite as 'displays of depravity' is, in fact, depravity. Depravity is indeed a display of itself. Not a terribly strong example of building your case. But of course, those are but the petty pedantic points punctuating this particular piece of pustulent pernicience.

More to the actual point, you claim these things are not valid political stances - yet the Caldari State champions the marketing of each and every one of them (really, popular culture is nothing if not the marketing of both culturally offensive moires and the moral outrage that such offenses are permitted to exist), and cites its commercial freedom to do so as a pillar of its political stance. More, the Amarr politcal and cultural position has supported sadism and disregard for human life for over a thousand years - either you exist in submission to God, or your value is only in your potential to be Reclaimed.

Now, the fact that you then went on to take Nauplius to task might make some feel your cause is worth supporting, but really, that's about as relevant as 'also, I'm carbon-based'. Look at yourself, sitting there getting sanctimonious over an unctuous piece of nonsense. Every month and a half or so, he puts up another tower, and rants about the ten thousand slaves he's going to kill - slaves he'd be killing whether or not he told anyone, mind you. As a result, within a week the tower has been destroyed and 20-60% of those slaves saved.

Even if none were, ten thousand baseliners every forty-five days.

As a counterexample, let's look at say, P I R A T, which is apparently a completely legitimate entity in your eyes. This is a corp that makes a habit of openly wallowing in the tears they can harvest, and makes no attempt to limit their targets to military vessels. They, however, pay CONCORD off, so it's all 'legal' when they kill... well, so far today, using 'average' crew counts, roughly 36,000 baseliners.

But oh, let's not condemn those folks. They're not the 'depraved'. Right? I mean, you seem offended at the very idea of actually condemning the people actually doing vile things, as opposed to the people talking about doing vile things. Why else get so defensive?

I wonder whether the Guristas would be content having you be their spokesperson, let alone smugly basking in the infamy that was the product of other people's planning and hard work.

Probably they'd tell you that rattling a saber makes noise, but drawing one should be silent.
