R.I.P. EVE.exe.

Seems a bit galling to be told I am having issues with EVE due to my use of the EVE.exe, Never had a problem starting EVE using it, not had patching issues, though I do have issues with the so called all singing and dancing new over designed launcher which oddly always seems to screw up everything and anything it touches on.

CCP have always promised (Threatened), players they were going to remove EVE.exe usage, again another attempt by them to homogenize the game utterly, instead they point me to an encyclopedic list of instructions to fix issues with the new launcher when it fails to work correctly yet again,

Only issue I ever had with the EVE.exe was clicking on the thing in the first place.........This is progress????

No wonder players are leaving.

I think you missed the point, too. We are paying to use this forum. Why should this be the SECOND or THIRD or the LAST place to get a cool shot of a WIP feature?

You aren't, you are paying to access Eve Online. Anything else is provided out of the kindness of CCP's heart.

Some games don't bother with official forums at all, as most posts end up being trolls or the usual vocal minority (Hey, I have an opinion and I demand that you accept it as the truth). If a player is already posting on a public gaming board, the chances are that they will use that site and not the official forum. It's been like this for a long time and won't change soon. Hmm, whatever happened to VN Boards? :-)

When Cornflakes give a free plastic toy in the cereal box you aren't specifically paying for it, which is why the price doesn't change. The fact you have paid for one item does not mean you are actually paying for anything else as well. My view reflects the EULA whereas yours is more

Well, it's that they were on Reddit first, but the butthurt is because of CCP Whatsisface telling us to not worry our pretty little heads, he'll post here when he's good and ready.

Also, ever notice that a link to Reddit doesn't give you the typical "You're leaving the EVE forums, beware of viruses." pop-up, and just takes you there immediately, whereas links to other internet forums block you with the pop-up? Clearly CCP has a preference for Reddit and is biased towards their associated in-game group, vs. other forums' in-game groups.

Yes I agree... Where is my new launcher I was promised. Very few updates do I ever look forward to and this was the one I was excited about...... I now am sad.

On the list of updates it's now listed as archived, yet can't seem to find where to get it, guess it's still not out yet?

Well to be fair they never said what time of day on the 6th, we all just assumed something that wasn't a patch would be released at the same time as patches are released.
