a change to rapid launcher reload time

35 sec coldown is really killing this launcher.
the whole point was to use smaller ammo size on larger hull to get higher RoF.

but...

the fact you have higher ROF and small ammo capacity within the launcher makes the need to reload even higher.

so my proposal:
1. do a reduction of the recharge time to something more sane let's say 15 sec?

or

2. add a skill which lower the recharge time per skill level.

Those whole point is so you can apply more damage to smaller targets.

indeed but then I can kill 1-4 ships and have to wait 35 seconds until I can fire again.

Nope, they are still very good in the way which is intended for them (apply more dmg to smaller vessels).

The point of the Rapid Launchers is it to provide burst DPS with a rather long reload time as downside to actually achieve the burst and not just another constantly firing missile launcher. If you want the reduction in reload time, you will have to give up a lot of ROF or DPS bonuses. Blink

Also, they have way better dps and damage application when firing. Lowering the reload time would just utterly wreck the interest of using same size launchers as your hull, to benefit from more damage over time, and better average dps.

RLMLs are fine as is and reducing the reload time would just mean the nerf bat would need to be applied in some other way to balance them.

It used to be 40 seconds, so just be glad it is only 35 now

if they reduced the actual alpha damage of light missiles themselves along with a slight tracking nerf then maybe its a decent request at that point, but certainly not as they stand now.

T3's need to be versatile so no rigs are necessary ... they should not have OP dps and tank

ABC's should be T2, remove drone assist, separate HAM's and Torps range, -3 HS for droneboats

Did you really just say the 35s reload is "killing" RLML? Have you undocked in the past 6 months?

Orthrus, cerb, caracal, rook, bellicose, rapier, prophecy and now navy drake all use RLML and is pretty much the only launcher used. Especially for the orthrus, cerb, caracal. You can go 2-3 jumps into LS and find at least half of those ships roaming around. Most of those ships are managable, but the orthrus is pretty rediculous with them.

-1. No to buffing RLML, in fact they could stand be nerfed more with a longer reload, or smaller magazine.
