OK the others have got the go forth and kill stuff handled pretty well and I do not argue with any of it. However that is not to say that I do not have an alternative suggestion for you to consider.

Spending some of your time in high sec learning some of the basic skills you will need to go forth and successfully kill all the things is not in and of itself a bad thing. D-scan, ship handling, the microwarp - cloak trick and many others can be learned in the relative safety of high sec while you are training some of your characters skills.
Along the way you can learn how to run missions. Yes, yes I know boring as hell for those who like to go forth and kill stuff but even they will have to admit that they are a reasonably steady and an easy way to earn the ISK needed to go forth and kill all that things.

As I said just some alternate thoughts on the whole thing for you to consider. Whatever way you go, welcome aboard and good luck to you.

Another piece of advice is this, google around and find a good training plan. Core skills as they are called, might not seem like much but they make a huge difference in a fight.
Some skills you want to get to 5 quickly are drones and capacitor systems, also gunnery.
I also recommend joining rvb for a while, they were great fun when I was with them.

You simply cannot pvp without 1 or more skillpoints. Since you posted, this means you have a character who has more skillpoints than 1. Congratulations! You can pvp now. :D

To be fair, you start with 50k(now increased) skillpoints so 1 skillpoints is not possible.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!
