"This will not stand!" - An open letter regarding the state of IGS

Good people of the Intergalactic Summit, hear me.

At a first look, I may look uninitiated in capsuleer matters or politics, but I am not blind. I can see the ailments of our fair forum of communication. And we stand at the edge of a precipice! The enemies of civilization are at our doorsteps and threaten all that is good and decent.

I speak of the pirates! Of the Blood Raiders, the Sansha and the Guristas. Of monsters that crave, beget and consume suffering.

These capsuleer fiends walk among us with impunity, without fear of reprisal or justice for their actions. Yesterday three of these creatures were discussing how to torture and slay innocents with unspeakable means, in plain sight freely for all to see, for profit and unsavory intentions. I talked with others that informed me that this travesty has been going on for long and not one soul has stepped up to challenge them. Even now they announce their ritual sacrifices and homicidal practices, the crimes they commit and their sabotage of New Eden's civilized nations. It is one thing to tolerate the outlaws of Null and Low Security space that are more interested in bringing suffering to themselves and each other, while bickering for resources and power. But this? This is an whole level of sick depravity!

As insult to injury, it seems DED authorities cling to their neutrality and refuse to intervene!

Are we supposed to let them corrupt our outlet of ideas and cultural exchange? Are we to let them walk in the light with their malice tainting our mind's eye? No! I refuse! I will not stand for this!

People of the Summit, we must unite against the pirate scum and show them that their wayward ways are not welcome here. By force if necessary. I ask for everyone's support in this endeavor. No, I beg of you for your assistance. For all that is decent and good!

Ser Jones, you are often the first to express disgust over these displays of depravity.

As for me, I refuse to acknowledge blood letting and human debauchery as valid political stances.

Give it time...... You'll be desensitized towards it soon enough.... Pretty sure we all have by now, if not we're guilty of it in some form or another that is.

You will have to develop a skin thick enough for even more outlandish individuals. Some of the people here are positively insane for Ishukrunch.

I agree with you, Major Ruil. Unfortunately you will find that few with the power to really change things are willing to take action.

For every post in this thread, I'm going to give Nauplius one thousand Minmatar slaves to sacrifice to the Red God!

So please, go on...

Your move, Blooder.

You're cute when you're angry. I already have ten thousand Minmatar slaves loaded up for Nauplius.

I'd love for you to come out to Delve for a bite to eat or just to talk. Are you strong enough? I'll contract you a gift from my location. Something to remind you of me.

Is it really a threat when its something you would do anyways? It's not like they weren't destined to be transfered somewhere while under your "care" right?

Well. That's true. I'm just going to have these slaves killed anyway. So I guess it's not really as much of a threat than a show of devotion.

More like a show of idiocy.

Major Ruil, is it? The entities you speak of as 'pirates' have vast tracts of space beyond the borders of the Empires that they control, and exploit, and use to husband their strengths. In truth, most of the organized 'pirate' cartels are nothing of the sort, but rather simply political powers in their own right that refuse to pay CONCORD to be acknowledged as owning the space CONCORD acknowledges they own, anyway.

That you see them in Empire space means only that they conduct their business where and how they see fit, without the slightest bit of concern for your laws. Really, I can't say that I blame them, considered the mockery of the Empires' laws that is CONCORD, or the way all four of the 'Great Empires' consistently bow before their own creation.

Really, if you want pirates to be disgusted by, I suggest turning your eye to the Empire-space corporations that make their living by preying on others - on miners, on haulers, on capsuleers seeking honest labor employed by agents of the various megacorporations in all four of the Great Empires. These individuals hold no space, nurture no growth, even among their own people, and have no investment in anything beyond their own sadistic enjoyment and 'harvesting tears'. They are, in short, pirates. Not simply nullsec empires that have been labeled 'pirate' because the Empires cannot bring themselves to admit that those of us who live in nullsec have grown well beyond their patronizing labels.

Gosh Miss Ruil, you're really mean!

What did I ever do to you? I had just come back from a break so I couldn't possibly vex you this much to warrant such hostility! Me, Miss Foley and Mister Nauplius were just discussing future mutual assistance and you just snapped at me!

Ah I was on the understanding the IGS was a place where speech was free and different cultures could all come together, i guess you want this to be governed like the empire space you live in and follow rules made by others. pirates control theyre own territory and have their own political beliefs and if you do not like the cultures they follow then simply do not get involved.

Eye protection. They keep things out but do nothing about things that come from the inside.

Don't you people ever use protective goggles for anything?

Pssst. The three people she is talking about are Halfrek, Nauplius, and Wendrika. They were discussing scientific procedures on the 'Intergalactic Summit' channel.

Wendrika, you more than anyone here should not feel hurt. You seem to not only have a high intelligence quota but also a high emotional quota. You apologized for being just as mean to me and I forgave you.

We were having a very peaceful, civil, rational discussion about necromancy and resurrection. I think maybe Yarosara might have tuned into the conversation with an out of context perspective. So Yarosara, and anyone else here that may be confused, I forgive you.

Try to be nice and respectful to different cultures. Thank you.
