New fitting window

Those who are or have supplied fitted ships to there Alliance, corp or events have spent countless hours boarding ships, selecting fitting, and press "Fit", then wash - rinse - and repeat. .... and repeat... repeat...

So my suggestion is such:

Using similar window and concept as when building ships.
- Drop fitting into window
- Select number of ships to be fitted
- Select location of ships and items to be fitted
- Press "Fit"

3 min (+/- cocking time) and you have 1000 fitted Rifters to give out, and hours more to actually play the game.

And of course, it works as well with 1 as with 1000 ships.

What you think, pointless or good to have ?

I understand your pain, but why not just ask for corp/alliance buy/sell orders? That way multisell/multibuy can remove all that work from you, and distribute it to every player that wants it? :-)

This guy had never worked with setting up doctrines before lol

Because some one still had to fit them and you need to fit them before the fleet forms as you may not be able to during

+1 I have wanted this for a while

+1 from me.

I know the pain of fitting doctrine ships for contracts, anything to make that easier is needed.

+1 Definitely, to add to this, I would like when you do this mass fitting you can pick the name of every ship that is created instead of the default X Name's X Ship, possible solution would be the fit name itself.

CCP does have an internal tool for this, but it simply creates the fitted ships from the DB, perhaps a player version of it?

The thing is, I'm generally all for simplifying tedious repetition, but in this case I think it would be "silly" to further increase the need for contracts when there should already be a universal system in place to handle this based on market mechanics.

You assume that I have no experience with setting up doctrines or even fitting multiple ships, so you dismiss my point by pointing out that I haven't thought about someone still having to fit them, and then arguing that some arbitrary time constraint makes this necessary to do beforehand.

So I ask you to consider the following, right now the reason for not putting up sell orders for doctrines are:

  • Price manipulation/sniping individual modules in order to mess up a deployment phase, or just for the lulz/profit.
  • Speeding up the deployment phase/handholding so noone fucks up and forgets scripts/ammo/whatever.

  • Now, what I propose is to expand the scopes of sell/buy orders, so that players have the ability to specify corp/alliance, and standings. Even going so far as to give different prices to different standings on sell orders. What would this effect have on the issue at hand? Firstly, it would eliminate my first point, unless ofcourse there is internal greed issues, but I consider that an internal affairs issue. The 2nd point, with multi-buy, the argument for speed is gone, and the handholding argument is kind of tied to the same issue, as it is more likely to be something in the middle/end of the list of modules/ammo that is forgotten when everyone has to fit their own ship.

So while less handholding might be inconvenient, I'm arguing that this is eve, and if the cost of this luxury is abit of carpel tunnel for middle management, so be it, you got the create similar contract which simplified this by about 90%, and now you want the last 10%.

That being said though, I have been in this situation myself, so I'm not going to -1 the suggestion, but I feel dev time should be spent on something else, so +0.

You might want to post that in the Ghost Fitting thread as well. I'd like to see that as well, and in particular the ability to draw modules from a can for fitting ships with the press of a button.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

I said nothing about a time constraint I pointed out you may not be able to during as there is a good chance the fitting service may be shut off at your station
