define over heat? like gives you an error and powers off? power cycles over and over? gives you an error when it powers up?

is it a desktop? laptop?

overheat, as long as a mobo sensor is not fubard is not that difficult to fix, usually a can on compressed air will correct the issue.

Though, if your cpu is messed up then yea.. but more info would help

Laptops tend to get all the dirt inside it and then they overheat and the heat can damage the insides or make it shut down repeatedly. If you dont have compressed air you can always cool it down by sucking the dirt out from the vents with vacuum cleaner. Tape up the sucking pipe to the vents and suck it all out. Pirate
