"Tipping" Someone Who Cooks For You

A corp mate offered to build a freighter for me if I'd gather the materials and pay the ISK costs for the job(s). While it's running, I asked if he built some profit in for himself and he said he had no idea what he would charge and not to worry about it. I do no industry myself yet, but I know he could be making profit for himself. Makes me feel too much like a freeloader.

So I ask you all: what kind of percentage would be fair?

Best profit would be, if he sells the Freighter... Just say'in, it is eve ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

BTW: You don't trust him, but want him to build your frighter? Am I right on this? Shocked

Not really sure how one would infer that there is no trust form the OP......

I would say a 10% or so of the market price for it would be fair.

Ah ok, I've should google "freeloader", misinterpreted that one...

Well then, why not the common 10% ?

Figure out how much profit would be made if he bought the minerals and sold the freighter. Give him the profit he would have made or maybe half of it or something. I feel like 10% would be an awful high profit for a freighter these days lol

I do things at-cost for friends.

I otherwise aim for 10% from the market, so if there is reason to charge them (risk, effort, or they insist) I'll do 5%.

If it is sold in Jita, I'll at worst match it, but try to undercut it (not everything in Jita is priced reasonably).
