The nervous pilot. [ a logistics topic ]

- please excuse my flawed ENGLISH - knowledge // my GERMAN is way better -

The nervous pilot can be any, it's the typical one in New Eden.
Although being stressed by recent losses he is again engaging for his Militia.
Suddenly he is locked - blood pressure rises.

But this time, it's different.
It's his mate in a little repper, in anything logistic from Inquisitor .. Scimitar

Here comes my point / wish.

*coughs*

Change of Display at the affected pilot --> when locked in fleet by an own fleetmember in a dedicated repper / logistics.
I want a clear distinction between being locked hostile / friendly.

Make one half of the brackets in static light green [ flashy light green - when remote reps or remote boosts incoming ]
[ other solutions thinkable ]

This shall only be valid regarding :

1.) Inquisitor, Bantam, Navitas, Burst
2.) Augoror, Osprey, Exequror, Scythe
3.) Guardian, Basiliks, Oneiros, Scimitar

And yes : I know : you could fit the above with cannons, blink green at you and kill you.

But I think, it's worth the effort, you will simply feel better in a proper fleet, when something "green" watches over you.
[ color can be any / green = example ]

Thank you for your consideration.

The kernel of the idea isn't a wholly bad one.

Instead of being 'yellow-boxed' by fleet members, sure they can be 'green-boxed'.

I think limiting it to certain ship classes regardless of fleet status may be a bad idea though. Its common for T1 logi frigates and cruisers to also lock up opponents and throw damage drones on targets. Why would you want that lock to be green?

That said while I don't disagree that a green lock would be nice I also don't think it's big enough of an issue to warrant developer time unless its an easy "little thing" that Punkturis or Karkur can hash out in an hour. Especially since most combat pilots don't even have blues and fleet members on their PVP overview in most situations.

From a logistics pilot perspective, I'd rather see us get some credit for being there in battle (on kill mails or something) and I'd like to see T2 logi frigates.

Good idea, but as said above, not limited to ship classes.

It should be fleet based. In-fleet locks are green boxed.

That's a really terrific idea. +1

Good idea, make it fleet based

Get it over to the Features and Ideas section ASAP!

That is actually one of my biggest gripes honestly. I hate it when My corp (or really any other entity that I am flying with) needs another logi, and I happen to be the guy that takes the bullet. Logistics contribute a lot to an overall fleet in most engagements, which is why I think that if you are applying reps to a ship that is on a KM, then you should be on it too.

As for the "Green boxing" I think that a better way of going about it would be to make it so that a Fleet member that targets you gets a purple box. That way, yes awoxing is real, but 90% of the time your fleet members are "one your side" you will be able to differentiate from who is *probably* repping you and who is attacking. Another option it to put a symbol above you shield, armor, and hull bars (think what you see when ewar is incoming) that would account for incoming damage, and reps.

Just my thoughts on the matter.
