With this in mind, the Vexor is pretty much the only non faction t1 cruiser i'd fly solo these days, the others are just too vulnerable to T3Ds.

Yes this meta sucks balls.

He could also try an armor Stabber. Ab, scram, 2x web and 2 small neuts are quite nasty for t3ds

Tough not to get caught on gates when solo in a cruiser, the Vexor is the best overall T1 but that is irrelevant against a blob. I would recommend something fast and kitey like a Stabber or an Omen. Burn off quickly and pick off tackle; bail if anything gets close.

So, today I just lost my 15th ship since my last successful PvP engagement.

I don't know what to do tbh. Probably lose more ships till I'm out of money ?

Win some, lose some. this month I saw a gang of 7 frigs and decided to go at them in my thorax, and, I got 5 of them at least....I think this is the easiest to find sort of solo combat outside of solo frig v frig, is cruiser/t3d versus small gang.

So my advice fit your ship in such a way where you can take on a gang of frigs and win, and look for a frig gang in FW space and get them to fight you. Even if you loose, you are sure to take out some of them at least, and that is much more fun, and you learn much more.

Your fittings are not too bad, although they definitely are not excellent. Some of them are pretty bad, for example your Confessor is horrible.

But that said, it is less about just having a good fitting and more about overall strategy. It's about the art of war (or the war of art). You can PvP with a rookie ship and be successful. Does that mean Reapers are good for PvP? Not really, it just means that knowledge is power.

What I'm saying is, don't rely on your fitting. Rely on your knowledge of the game and your piloting skill. When your knowledge of the game increases your piloting skill increases, and that is when your fittings will become "optimized" .

Buy some comets and tristans. Comets you can fit for both max gank or scram kiting. Tristans you can fit for nueting, brawling or kiting. With these you get to practice the fundamentals of the 3 main types of fighting while going easy on your wallet. Practice using the dscan before and while you are fighting. Soon you will get a feel of which fights to take and when it's time to try and leave a fight.

Here's a surprise fit i was thinking of trying:

[MiniMoa, Moa fit]

Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Damage Control II
Power Diagnostic System II

X-Large Ancillary Shield Booster, Navy Cap Booster 400
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
100MN Y-S8 Compact Afterburner
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
'Langour' Drive Disruptor I

Light Neutron Blaster II, Void S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Void S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Void S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Void S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Void S

Medium Processor Overclocking Unit I
Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I

Hobgoblin II x3

small guns for better tracking against frigs/dessies, and free's up fitting space for XLASB and oversized AB.

It's still does 373dps, and 420 over heated so not too bad dps with good tracking, range control, and tank. The XLASB with standard blue pill gives nice 39.1k ehp before reload which is pretty sweet for a cruiser. could maybe drop the Web, or the invul for a small cap booster so it's less vulnerable to neuts. with ab overheated it goes 1584m/s so you have a better chance of being able to burn back to gate, or tackling ships that won't expect you to move so fast. Fittings cost 10mil and ship hull is 11.3mil so it won't be too expensive to lose after t1 insurance

EDIT: well I tried it out, got a couple of easy algos kills but i needed the cap booster to keep ab running and it handled like a brick so i wouldn't have a chance of getting away from kite frigates. tank was very strong, maybe over tanked for low sec so next time i'll probably swap the invul for a small cap booster, and switch the dcu for a nano that lets me drop the cpu rig for polycarbon rig making much lower tank but big boost to speed and agillity.

I guess it's right, I also think I'm really bad at picking my fights. It's like I'm welping everything.

Lots of cheap options. The expensive part is the implants, drugs and offgrid booster. I dont see many true solo pilots anymore

AB comet with hull tank + AAR and 150mm rails is probably the best non-pirate solo frig in the game right now.

You do have to learn to avoid the OGB/HG Snake abusing scum though.
