Good afternoon everyone.

I'm just wondering, with the upcoming changes to structures coming soon, is it worth putting up a new POS for hisec industry? Should I wait for the new structure to be released before I consider investing in a structure?

depends on what you want to do.

i personally wouldn't bother when it comes to manufacturing. but a pos is a huge bonus for R&D

Due to how market works, structures will be ridiculously priced. At least month or so. I'd say, grab a copy of EVE client and try that on SiSi when it'll be near-roll out

What comes to POS, nothing really changed in the way how you approach it. As before, you are trying to answer 3 questions:

1)Do I have at least 3 characters ready to utilize it's powers?
2)Do I feel myself ready to manage at least 2 invention/production directions?
3)Do I have a big nice spreadsheet proving profitability of operation?

If the answer to all 3 is YES (not just yes), then go for it. Otherwise, you either shouldn't or you are not doing it for profit, making whole question pointless.

POS is a corporate asset - not a personal asset so you will need to join or create a player corporation to build one. To justify the cost you will need several characters trained to use it. Greatest value is time saving for Invention/copying.

For one player with a few ALTS in Hisec, I think a small tower with a design lab is a good investment. Plan to cancel jobs, take it down and store it in a station if you are wardecced - the rest of the time CONCORD will defend it for you. CCP have announced that there will be incentives to move to the new structures as they become available and research/assembly structures are unlikely before next year so, if you want a POS - go for it.

you could put up a small POS (90mil initial, around 3mil/day) and researchn there.
for everything else, use a station

Structures for industry are a long way off.

Citadels are not meant for industry. They are basically housing (offices).

There may be industry upgrades (rigs) for citadels, but no upgrades have yet been discussed, and they are likely to be inferior to industry-specific structures.

I thought the Citadels were/are replacing the POSes or am I wrong ?

Yup, they are, well, not just this first set, but once all are released they'll replace POSs

The current citadels are housing. There are plans for industrial ones, but as Tau says, they're probably a long way off (no announcements made yet)

See the recording of this year's fanfest for details on the long-term plan for structures
