You don't.
The standings requirement was removed a while ago.

The only limitation is that they're still an anchorable object, which carries its own set of restrictions.

e: …specifically, the system restrictions that were changed in Crius are:

  • Faction standings are no longer required to anchor Control Tower in high-security space (they still require charters however)
  • 0.8 and above solar systems are now eligible for Control Tower anchoring (except for a few restricted solar systems, like Jita)
  • Newly created corporations now need to wait 7 days before being allowed to anchor Control Towers

No you don't need standings. Crius a river brought these changes.

There we go, I was looking for the exact patch.

So up until a year ago, standings were required for high sec, but since last year they are not required anymore.

If you used google to find the answer, that's why you were getting conflicting results.

In case you're wondering, the required standings used to be:

+1.0 to anchor in 0.1 lowsec space.
2.0 for anchoring in 0.2
3.0 in 0.3
...
5.0 standings (with the empire, f.ex. Caldari State) to anchor in 0.5 high-sec.
6.0 for 0.6
7.0 for 0.7

So needless to say, that is A LOT of mission grinding to be able to just put up a POS. On top of it, to get 7.0 with Caldari and not be kill-on-sight in Gallente and Minmatar space, we needed to max out the Social skills and possibly do some more missions for Gallente and Minmatar or Sisters of Eve or the like, just to cancel out some of the negativity.

AND, the 7.0 had to be the standing for the entire player corp, not just for the CEO. So if a single new recruit with 0.01 Caldari (from doing his tutorial missions) joined the corp, the corp standings became averaged (7.0 + 0.01) / 2 = 3.5 - no longer able to anchor your POS.

So, for years, people were just jumping through hoops to try to get their POS anchored and keep their corp standings elevated, until finally, FINALLY, CCP changed it last year.

Yeah the change to standings was a good thing.

A bit of a kick in the guts for those that did spend the early days grinding up standings.

You could have jumped on SiSi and tested this yourself in just a few minutes.

If not SiSi you could have done it on TQ also, just not as cheaply.

I've been playing for over two years. I have no idea how to "jump over to SiSi." I thought you had to mail in a form to CCP and they moved you when they got around to it. Or somebody without autism could have just answered the dude's question.

Someone did answer the question didn't they?

It isn't the only way to an answer though and even if people being helpful in the forum is seen as a surprise, sometimes it's also possible to get answers yourself.

Additional information, after the question is already answered isn't a threat mate. It's just additional information that someone might find useful. Calm down and keep reading. The second sentence was an alternative to SiSi for those that think a form is required.

Tippia never gives "real" answers. If you drop your computer into a filled bathtub while one of his/her answers is on your browser, it will completely disappear (along with the browser.)

There just isn't anything that can be said!
