I know that capital ships may not be constructed in high-sec. That also applies to all capital parts as well, is that correct?

I am wanting to concentrate on constructing a single module of the capital ship and specialize in that part. For example, building Capital Drone Bay. I would need to have the construction done in low-sec at either an NPC facility or a POS.

Is that correct?

You can construct components and modules anywhere, but not the actual hull. Those are limited to low sec for dread/carrier, and null for supers

Get back to mining ice, miner!

Highsec is worth fighting for.

By choosing to mine in New Order systems, highsec miners have agreed to follow the New Halaima Code of Conduct.  www.minerbumping.com

This is a bad idea. Your assumption is that there is demand for your product. However, that is not the case. If I can make a carrier, I can make all the subcomponents. If I wish to maximise profit, I will seek to make those components myself especially as the cost of the bpo is cheap compared to the cost of a carrier bpo. So, who is your market? Most capital builder would already have this covered.

I agree with Lady and Bung. By all means give it a go, but I do not see this as being a viable business model.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

Cap components sell fairly slowly. Firstly because anyone who can build a cap can build the components, second because the components are huge and hauling them from the trade hub out to lowsec is harder than hauling compressed ores out.

the only cap component that sells relatively well is capital construction parts.

all the others are moving extremely slow.

Agreed, I bailed out after a few months for fighting all day to make incredibly little profit. The parts, other than construction parts, just move way too slowly.

I'm not sure that is a good idea. Mainly because those cap parts are so large in m3 it will be a problem in terms of logistics. Capital ship builders will prefer to everything in a single or close number of small systems.
