Are Cruise Missiles only for Capital ships?

Also, are Heavy Assault Missiles for HAC?

Overall Info
Cruise missiles are large guided munitions used by cruise missile launchers. They are most often used along with the launchers on Battleships.

Frigate/destroyer missiles:
Light missiles (long range)
Rockets (short range)

Cruiser/battle cruiser missiles:
Heavy assault (short range)
Heavy launchers (long range)
rapid light (rapid firing anti-small ship)

Battleship missiles:
Torpedo launchers (short range)
Cruise missiles (long range)
Rapid heavy launcher (rapid firing anti-cruiser missiles)

Capital ship weapons:
Citadel Torpedo (short range)
Citadel Cruise (long range)

That's the basic break down.

Battleships that can use cruise missiles include Caldari Raven, Navy Raven & Navy Scorpion, Minmatar Typhoon and Fleet Typhoon, Gurista Rattlesnake and Mordus Barghest. The Amarr Armageddon can fit them but has no bonus for launchers.

Technically cruise missiles can be loaded on any ship with a launcher hardline and enough cpu/pg. That said out side of a few fringe cases like the Armageddon you generally follow hull bonuses.

This used to be the case but sadly ccp changed it. In 2009 I had an abaddon with a citadel torpedo launcher fitted for lulz but you can no longer undock with an oversized citadel weapon on a BS. Understandable given it would mess with the models horribly.

One would expect Naga to be able to fit cruise missile launcher... but nope.

But Torpedoes and Bombs fitted on a Stealth Bomber still do equal to or more damage than Cruise Missiles.

I never noticed that I could fit Cruise Missiles on a Raven or Caldari BS with bonuses before.
I did't know what type of missiles would go on.

Obviously the lack of bombs will generate less DPS...
However, I presume it can fit more than 3 Cruise Launchers which would generate more DPS.

Also, the BS tank is better than the Stealth Bomber one except for the signature radius.

You're kind of off the rails with the conversation.

Bombs are a very specific weapon system with a particular kind of application. They exist outside the normal DPS conversation because they're not used as DPS, they're an alpha weapon used to clear enemy fleets using waves of bombers.

Aren't torpedoes DPS or other DPS related to the comparison of the Cruise Missiles or HAMs?

Also, I have never tried Capital Weapons yet, or Citadel Torpedoes (if they existed or if they ever existed).

I have a pilot who can fly Caldari Battleships and Mordu's Legion ships however, I never tried them yet.
I didn't know that the DPS was less than (<) or equal to (<=) what my bomber could do.
It's good to know that it can tank more, and that I shouldn't expect more DPS or , as you mention , normal DPS, or normal DPS conversation which you seem to be referring to.

I have never used any bombs yet, neither did I ever reload them yet either.
I should first try it in fleet with my Alts on Missions, or at Missions Hubs , to see the results and get used to the controls.

I flown in bombers fleets before but the higher stress level made it too complicated for me to test the bombs DPS yet.
I even brought extra bombs for my fleet mates without even ever launching one single bomb yet.

I think I may have tested one before in low sec, since I believe it cannot be used in High sec .
However, it was just a dud bomb with no target and exploded with no damage or DPS although it could have generated a high potential of DPS.

Edit:
Yes, after verification, Raven can fit 6 Torpedo Launcher II and generate 1.5k DPS which is more than my Bomber, if not 1k DPS more. Can wait to try.

Stealth bombers have 5.25 effective launchers worth of damage, most missile battleships have 8 effective launchers worth of damage (barghest is ~8.8). If you're looking at raw damage then battleships will have more raw torpedo damage.

And more tanks too, the only drawback is the risk of loss, but it is outweighed by the success rate.
There will be a few conditions where it will not be worth a try such as against waves of bombers...
(Gate camps are also a problem for more risk of loss.)

Either way, the testing will be worth recording for me.

I am also going to start trading Ship Module and Ships at Mission Hubs .

I also use T2 Torpedoes.

dont use t2 torps on bombers
NEVER
you will get way way way more damage when using navy torps unless you shoot a fully tackled battleship (or something bigger)

perhaps yes, since the target size matters for the damage to be fully applied.
That would be a good thing to test, or test it on the test server to see the dps differences.
