All I remember was the pleasure hub girl.

It should be somewhere around that number. I mean, yes, most of them were very similar, but as far as I can recall, there was a different interior for each different station type and there are 6–7 proper stations per race.

as long as they can eventually redo WiS with these if they so wish, and easily, i'm cool with this.

by easily i mean not having to make crazy spegetti code that becomes skynet and takes over all of eve, ala the pos code

Actually, this is the smart way to go about it. The old station code, you wouldn't want to try and mess with it. By making new entities, they can handle things differently. The old stations were static. The new need to be modular.

Ship spinning and captains quarters are easily recreated as different modules, or are already different modules that can be integrated. It shouldn't have anything to do with the underlying code for how stations works.



Ask yourself the last time a new EVE feature was not abandoned in the middle of development.

Then ask yourself the likelihood of this actually happening for this particular feature.

I didn't see Citadels working with full station functionality on the offset, and this news just happened to encourage those suspicions. If they don't know how to adapt existing code to make it work fully, it means they are doing something entirely new. As CCP has a terrible track record with actually finishing anything new, I shall remain a pessimist.
