Turn Off Sensor Overlay Popup Window

Hi guys,

I am hoping it would be possible to add an option to disable the popup window for the Sensor Overlay which appears on mouse-over just above the capacitor on HUD. This window is obstructive and obfuscates targeting enemies which have active scramble on your ship.

To be honest I have never used this Sensor Overlay popup box for anything and would far rather the facility to target choice enemies.

I suggest this window (or the location of active E-war notifications) is moved to prevent this obstruction.

Many thanks in advance,

Bob

Is it proper programming style to always allow for an opt-out of objects that pop up in your face, yes !

Are CCP devs any good at their jobs, no !

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.

Insert tirade about "fully customizable" UI where every. single. different. button/action/item on the screen could be resized, moved, removed, brought back with a hotkey or neocom button, changed color, icon chosen, perfect better interface supported by a dedicated team of developers for constant UI tweaks, improvements, and "little things" that should be added ASAP...

done.

Insert tirade about obtuse forum posters trolling on genuine suggestion posts.

This is hardly about re-sizing every aspect of the UI. There is a significant issue here where one recent feature added by CCP is being obstructed by another recently added feature.

Get right out of here, calling me obtuse.

I agree with OP.

My post was not in any way a troll. It was just me saying for the hundredth time, in as brief a way as possible, that I think instead of making small changes to our current UI, we should get a brand new, "from the ground up" UI with the features I described, where small changes, like this, would be extremely easy and handled by a dedicated UI Team.

Why the hate for my wish for a new and better UI?

Oh I believe I owe you an apology then. Sometimes the intention behind text doesn't translate well. Sorry about that *grovel, grovel*

I don't hate the idea of a re-built UI. It might be a lot of work for the dev team to do it though, particularly since they've been iterating on the old one for so long. If they did decide to start from scratch, I wouldn't complain (though many others used to the old system would - do you remember the fuss over changing an icon for the damage control?).

So true. About so much in EVE.

it hurts me deep down. knowing this game will probably never evolve into the next generation, and instead will probably slowly die with a poorly designed spreadsheet interface.
