Well well well... an Icon thread!

Soon™...stay tuned. I don't suspect UAE will let us down in those regards.

Edit: And I'll take your tin-foil hat, if that's up for grabs. You can keep/dispose/give away the rest. I just want the hat.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Oh good, it's not just me then.

All the things that need to be done to the game, but instead they allocate people to shuffling random combinations of pixels to replace the well-proven icon system. Personally, I can't even remember the threadnaughts where everyone demanded change to the iconic plus and box symbols. It's quite weird, and also sad, that the people inside the failing system can't even begin to understand how they are killing it.

Truth be told the new icons are indeed horrible even after having tried one's best to get used to them, I wouldn't quit over it but it could very well be someone's last straw.

You think I havent? walls of text have been written. CCP told us all to go fck ourselves. Okay.

I tried getting used to new icons, I really did. But they are just so terrible and amateurish, and completely break established themes.

You know, when people play for 10+ years, and the UI elements get ingrained into their minds... Its not so easy to let it go. For example, when they changed rats from red crosses to these triangle things... I simply stopped farming sleepers. Honestly, its simply that uncomfortable for me to tell cruisers from battleships apart.

Same with PvP and other icons. Before, a frig was easy to tell on the grid. Now, it all looks like fcking triangles. Well, core of the game is older veterans like me - we like our things the way they were, more or less. A rat is a red cross, a ship is a bracket, etc. You can play with more modern variations of the icons, but leave the common theme alone!

And now these same icons start appearing on scanning, my last refuge of normal, minimalist ergonomical design.

Point i am trying to make is, this is no longer the game I fell in love with 10 years ago. it looks different, it feels different, and it is time to move on.

Oh my sweet little Baby. Sounds you haven't got hugged for a long time!
There you go! *huuuuuuuuuuuuggggggggg*
And also a slobbery kiss on your sweet blushing cheeks! *kiiiiisssss*

And yeah, as you already mentioned, there will be the day when you get too old for all of that fast moving, blinking and shiny spaceship games. When the fingers aren't as fast as they were in the 70s and the connections between the gray cells begin to disappear much faster.
And there will be a time when the change of icons is a game-breaking change for you.

We will really miss yoou. All of us! For sure!!!!

Good bye my old friend!

yeah, the icons suck, but if that's all you got for basis behind your ragequit, then good riddance to the pettiness.

Adapt or GTF... oh, you are. Good.

I feel alone in my liking of the new icons... But you'll give me your stuff so I can torture myself with the icons right?

Just say NO to Dailies

It felt uncomfortable for few days to see unfamiliar shapes on overview, but now after relearning by doing (shooting again) for a few months they are familiar.

With scanning window, the new one, well, there are flaws there I agree. It should not be implemented in current form on test server. They need to make it more customizable.

Good Evening,

Please note the General Discussion forums are not the appropriate place for quitting posts, as such i will be locking this thread indefinitely.

Quote:

33. "Quitting" posts are only permitted on the Out of Pod Experience channel.

CCP recognize that during the course of gameplay a lot of friendships are made between players and that sometimes if a player is taking a break or departing from the EVE universe that they would like to say goodbye on the forums. Posts of this nature are only permitted on the Out of Pod Experience forum, and must be civil and well worded.
