Stop launching the client from steam and just use the direct launcher when you need to patch, the exefile.exe in the bin folder for the client.

There is a way to split your steam and eve account. See if you can't get a login to eve and just skip steam entirely. it has always been very dicey anyway.

e: open a support contract if you can't figure it out. I don't know how to do it, sorry.

Thanks, it worked!
It is possible to create EVE account if you have steam account: https://ccpcommunity.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/203523662-Setting-an-account-name-for-Accounts-created-through-STEAM
Now it is possible to continue subscription though steam, and launch game directly without launcher.

Thanks for this! I was finally able to get my active account (through Steam) active on this side of the fence.

I didn't even realize I was on a trial account when I got going after purchasing a premium package through Steam. The second time I fired it up (through Steam), my previous character was "gone"! After a couple minutes of digging I realized that somehow I managed to create 2 accounts during the install process. Fortunately I didn't get very far the first day, so I can re-make the trial toon if I so choose.

Now I can actually use the forums outside of the New Player Q&A. Couldn't figure out why I couldn't post replies anywhere else. Lol
