My sweet privateer

I have recently become able to do tier 3 missions and have come up against the one called "My sweet privateer" after looking through it on eve-survival, it seems a near impossible mission for me to do (being that I have only a cruiser and haven't been playing long enough to be in an alliance that would help). Though it is my second tier 3 mission.

The enemies listed are as follows:
Pocket 1

Group 1 (autoaggro)
3x Battleships (Privateer Lieutenant)
4x Battlecruisers (Privateer Sergeant)
2x Cruisers (Privateer Captain)

Group 2 (drone aggro)
5x Destroyers (Privateer Private)
5x Cruisers (Privateer Corporal)

Pocket 2
Range: approx. 60 km

1x Heavy Missile Battery triggers full room aggro
1x Cruise Missile Battery triggers full room aggro

Group 1
2x Destroyers (Privateer Lance Corporal)
2x Electronic Attack Frigates (Privateer Specialist) Damp/Scram

Group 2
3x Battlecruisers (Privateer Corporal)

Group 3
3x Battleships (Privateer Lieutenant)
1x Battleship (Privateer Commander) Damp/NOS reinforcement

Reinforcement
5x Battlecruisers (Privateer Strikeforce)
1x Stasis Tower triggers full room aggro

This seems to me a bit much, and much closer to the tier 4 missions. If anyone has any suggestions as to why it is such a difficult mission in comparison to others of the same level, or how (with out a corp) to go about completing this mission with only my little maller it would be appreciated.

I would love to help you out.

What ship and fitting are you flying? Without knowing your skills, that isnt exactly the answer to your problem, but it is a good start. The fact that you are in a cruiser is a big portion of the problem. For an underskilled played, a cruiser is not much good beyond level 2 missions. You should be in a battlecruiser for 3s.

This sums it up. If you aren't in an incredibly well fit Cruiser with excellent skills, you're borderline doing it wrong. Battlecruisers are the general consensus for L3's.

Yeah I am saving for a BC but don't have enough to fit/buy/insure atm.

Do level 2s or exploration or something until you have enough for a BC. Impatience will get you blown up.

This mission is hard in any battlecruiser that isn't a Drake. Back in the day I gave up in a Harbinger and threw a Geddon at it.

It is a nice payout though. Make sure to loot all those fine Navy tags.

this is what i used to use for that mission. and all lvl 3 missions.
its cap stable and never swapped out the enams.
dontforget speed is also your best friend.

The important thing is if you feel its impossible it probably will kill you.....this speaking to a guy that lost upmteen ships on the Blockade

As with any other part of EVE patience is most definitely a virtue skip the mission for now unless you get someone to help you out....join a corp that helps new guys by letting you salvage their missions or will come with you for some protection

I don't know this mission but....

Lvl III missions with NPC Battleships have mostly another way around to finish. So reread all you can find about the mission.

Also already said, LvL III missions in BC. Drake cheapest and fast to train to ship that can do III's easily.

Also : decline this sorta mission. It ruins your standing to other faction. Gallente this time.

My Sweet Privateer pays rather well, so I think it is really one of the best l3s, assuming you loot it, because if you don't it is basically worthless.

It may be a bit hard to do in a maller, I have done it in an Arbitrator and Vexor before but the guy you have to kill to finish the mission is kinda tough for an l3 mission.

The key to this mission, more or less is range. The rats don't really have great range, there will be a web tower in the final pocket that IIRC spawns, so make sure you can kill it. There will be damps, so depending on lock range is probably a bad idea, hence why I favor drone ships which you can assign drones to kill things, and then fly out of your lock range if need be. I suppose a drake could do the same having FOF missles, but the elite frigs will get close and that will ruin any chance of hitting what you want to hit with them.

Generally speaking, I would orbit at 60km and take basically no damage, I don't know what your drone skills are, but assuming you have Amarr cruisers up decently high this may work fine. If you can't shield tank, the Vexor is a better boat IMO.
