Better emoticons for in game chat

Now, obviously smilies such as o7 and o/ have evolved on their own by people simply lacking any means of using images, but my recent experimentation with Unicode has allowed me to present to you these symbols to better express yourself in EVE:

Note: NumLock must be on for these to work. Combinations are used on a Windows system and may not work for Linux, Android, Google Chrome or MacOS.

Original: o7 (salute)
Replace with: ☺7 (Alt + NumPad1) or ☻7 (Alt + NumPad2)

Original: o/ or \o (waving hello)
Replace with: ☺/ or \☺ or ☻/ or \☻

Original: <3 (heart)
Replace with: ♥ (Alt + NumPad3)

You can also use:

♪ (Alt + NumPad1,3)
♫ (Alt + NumPad1,4)

Call me a dinosaur, but I really don't see the need. The current system is short and to the point, and for those of us who can actually type (and/or read), it's probably a LOT easier than finding the desired emoticon in yet another drop down list, or programming yet another hotkey.

Since everyone is concerned about monetisation these days, maybe CCP should do the Steam thing and introduce emoticons as a random drop that can be traded on the market. Lol

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

Depends on your browser I think.

Displays fine in Chrome. Doesn't display ingame though, but heh, who goes ingame anyway?

You need a browser and OS that is Unicode 6.0 or otherwise ISO10646:2011-compliant (at least that's when emojis were formally included in the character set).

Anything recent and/or not-crap should do, so time to mug old ladies for hardware upgrades, I suppose? Twisted

Actually it looks really good on android with chrome. It's all colored in. But winders with FF it's just mono pattern lines.

I'm in it for the money
