Hey guys, anyone got a Fanfest lanyard (just the lanyard, not the pass itself) they're willing to sell me? With the new fanfest coming up, hopefully someone would get a second one I could buy.

Here's a screenshot of exactly what I'm looking for: http://eve.ninjaholic.com/img/pass.png

Let me know if anyone's interested. Evemail me is probably the best way to catch me.

I collect em. Got some rare ones too. I wear them to work. Working at Apple at the moment and we all wear lanyards from various companies, sometimes previous employment. An Eve one or a CCP one I'd be proud to wear around work. Don't really wear the ones you can't get anymore to work, for what should be obvious reasons. Am hoping to add an Eve one to the collection.

Cripes! Good luck to you - I stopped working for one of my clients when they wanted me to wear a lanyard.

My response was something like "if you think that I need this around my neck to remind me who I am , then you must think that I am some sort of imbicile and I am taking this implication seriously".

Wearing a name tag with photo around one's neck as if we were a docile lump of meat is abhorrent. However, if this doesn't bother you then good luck but in the meantime, if anyone wishes to know who I am then all they need to do is ask and I reserve the right to reply how I choose.

Pam:  I wonder what my name means in Welsh?Nessa: Why?

Sounds like that company was better off without you anyhow.

Rofl.

We wear them because they give us access to particular parts of the building, being RFID chipped and all. The alternative would probably be RFID implants.

I prefer wearing a lanyard tbh.

I have a choice between a lanyard, clip, or badge reel. The badge reel ROCKS.

So, anyone going to this year's fanfest who doesn't particularly want to keep their lanyard, would you consider selling it? I don't want the fanfest pass at all, just the actual lanyard cable itself. (See link below)

Why don't you get one tailor made for you? A quick google away will net you dozens of places where you can get 12 of them for a couple bucks completely customized with all types of EVE Online logos.

I even know guys in my country that will do them for beer Big smile

Unless you want the "ORIGINAL" ... just wondering.

Well, you do need an ID tag when you work in a company so big you are given access to certain zones or restricted areas, specially those that come with keycards.

You never worked in a bank or an energy sector corp I assume. As much as I can understand your strange point of view demeaning people as sheep for using ID is kinda ... strange, is there some inherent evil in speaking your public record and government stored name to people? Just wondering Big smile not like nigeria scammers in the street are asking for your name all day ...

But thinking it better I must confess I give a diff name to people I meet in the streets. I'm usually Don Jose de Alameida and Conchito, landowner of a Pig Farm, or Carlos Alejandro Castañeda de Veracruz, seller of Rugs and rug cleaning products.

I also present myself here in Panama to random people I meet in my street travels as Josue Trinidad Hernandez Hiponcho, english teacher for hire.

Yes yes ... I think I understand what you mean. It's kinda liberating to go around pretending to be someone else, and when I go in the streets and people ask me what country I am from and they say X or Y I say "OMG yes, how did you know?" , amazing how people open up if you just follow the social game of being nice and proceed to tailor a fake life with the woes and sorrows of a poor venezuelan teacher, nicaraguan expat, ecuador tourist, mexican businessman or Colombian budding writer.

Accent imitation is a must, and must admit with no shame that I have mastered the Bogota accent, a soft panama one, the ciudad de mexico df one, about 6 types of venezuelan ones too (I'm possibly from there) and a mix and match of several south american ones from Argentina/Chile and Paraguay (beautiful accents by the way, best ones for me tho, are the Colombian ones)

In a country with so many tourists, you life is one of many and you can be anyone in the long tedious journey of working at odd hours in the street and dealing with people.

Fact is, I totally love to give my name ... all of them.
