I had the same Idea. But I have taken different path.

With Stratios and drones I can solo 6/10 in blood raider space, I can refit with mobile depot. Drones are for DPS and I have remote reppers. Stratios have fairly big cargo bay.

I can be self sufficient and usually can stay under the radar. But I should be more carefull I noticed. You risk your ship and your ship is your home after all.

@Jenn aSide Yeah I am a little worried about how hard it will be to move around due to the fatigue, but I am hoping it will be something i can learn to live with. I wish carriers held more, or Rorqs could hold non mining ships... Would make it more flexible. Maybe I should get a Mothership so i can :)

I've been considering this for a while, and tbh actually moving all of your stuff seems too much work to me (but I'm really lazy). When moving large distances I normally either firesale the lot, use carriers, or just jump a load of stuff into highsec on an alt and have it couriered. This last is ridiculously cheap and quick compared to doing it yourself, but these are usually one way moves. I can see why some people enjoy the challenge of moving their own stuff about, used to do this a lot early on. Suitcase carrier ftw (thank god it never died because I fit it with cargo expanders, lol). Haven't really used the bowhead yet. You can use wormholes to create a sort of superhighway with a bit of practice, look up Siggy. Some use Thera as a base to access different areas, but it's a hotzone so not ideal to move PVE ships through. Maybe it's worth creating a specific base (ideally somewhere with a strong market), then looking at travel options from that?

Personally, I'd move clones to specific spots then seed each station with various ships. Even if it means buying at a markup from the local market for convenience. If the market looks rubbish and the area has traffic, creating your own minihub is always a nice stream of background income. This is sort of what we've all been doing for a while with alts, but it's viable with one character now you can make upto 11 jump clones with no standing requirements and jump every 19 hours or so with max skills.

Yeah I am thinking of doing:
Carrier Alt
Loki alt for Covert Cyno's and scouting and Webbing the Carrier If I need to use a gate,
Main for T3 Plexing, or maybe a Gila/Ishtar/Stratios I don't know yet. :) excited though


It probably will be alot of work, but the idea of doing something I haven't in eve yet Thrills me.

I think OP is talking about doing it solo, which has a hell of a lot of upsides (mostly not having to deal with shitbird blues).

And your version of nomadic was dropping supers on cruiser gangs and smugging about it. So shut yer trap.

It's amusing watching you lot flail about now your i-win button is broken, despite having the biggest and baddest elites, the most ISK, and probably the most contacts ingame.

Pardon my ignorance but can a carrier even jump to a covert cyno? I thought those were special or something?

The mobile depots have made it easier to do the solo nomadic thing but I wish it was easier to do it permanently or as a corp.

It would be cool if there was a jump capable ship that could be turned into a mobile base. A black ops orca, redesigned rorqual or a T3 mobile structure with unique mods, is what i have in mind.

Very doable and enjoyable. Carrier suitcase / Drone based DPS is an excellent solution.

That's a pretty dumb idea OP. You will only lose your carrier and your main will get podded etc.. It's inevitable really. what happens if you're in your wormhole and lose your probing ship for example?

You're assuming no one will strap on their autism helmet and go out of their way to hunt you, especially after posting your idea on here. EVE is all about strength in numbers m8, you will get **** on if you attempt to do this alone. Engagement with the locals? Good thing people have e-honor and won't bring falcon alts or logi. Run sites then? Surely no one will combat probe you.

You're playing the wrong game if you think you can stand up against all of EVE on your own. The closest best thing I would recommend is get a T3 and load it up with some fits and a depot for refit then daytrip to null or something.

He does have right in that the death is inevitable in EVE when you move thru the regions known to have dwellers that like to PVP, with all your ships and cargo.

No amount of cerefullness will prevent you from inevitable, some day, someone will have enough luck, and you will have anough lazy mind to slip into Capsule and then into new clone.

Dealing with that situation would require you to have spare ships, spare clones, located in some moving base if it must be a whole nomad experience.

On earth nomadic people usually stay in one place some time and then move to another, from camp to camp. They have certain locations they move thru, that are known to be safe and abundant into resources. Nomadic people move with all they own. If they are ambushed they lose everything and must start everything again from scrap.
