Why CCP Won't Fix Nullsec

Dearly Beloved,

James 315 finally breaks his silence on the recent changes to the game in order to deliver a stunning and absorbing analysis.

EVE Online's peerless pundit nails it all, in one fearless diatribe. If you thought you knew the answers to EVE's problems, think again!

A SoundCloud file to savour!

Why CCP Won't Fix Nullsec

The Saviour of Highsec blesses all of his flock;
His mercy knoweth no bounds.
The Lord both of those who run with the fox
And those who hunt with the hounds.

Perhaps someone would do me the favour of suggesting a better closing 2 lines; it's been a long week...

Thanks for making a whole thread about linking a SoundCloud of somebody reading somebody else's opinion piece.

Now I wonder what was first, the chicken or the blob. However, the road crossing equation seems solved because the blob was on the other side.

You're welcome, Tyyler!

Seriously though, James 315 retains an abiding interest in the vicissitudes of EVE Online's fortunes. By now, most of us have heard or read a great deal about the state of the game in the light of recent and proposed changes to nullsec, and perhaps thought there was nothing more to be said or written.

The decision to record the essay was entirely mine; a personal choice based upon what I regarded as the importance and novelty of the content. Also, humour...

Not everyone is blessed with near-perfect vision or the leisure or ability to read such articles easily. For them too, an audio version provides handy and (I hope) enjoyable access to more of EVE's diverse community.

You are, of course, welcome to imply that my purpose in posting the thread is, in some sense, an empty one. But there are those who seem to enjoy these audio files, and so I do it for them.

Please feel free to ignore such posts from me Tyyler, and to resist the temptation to respond to them...

I do wish people would stop spreading this negativity. Everyone is a game dev in Eve, apparently.

Play a different game if you don't like it.

Tyler, your opinions of James aside, I would think you would find the OP's content entertaining. Polite, well versed, and articulate.

A far cry from the horrid majority of the posts here.

You gotta admit that logic is their stronk point. Since people are afraid to pve in null they thought it is common sense to also move the pvp content in high sec.

Not usually one to correct a fan, but that should 'probably' be 'boring' and 'than', followed by a question mark - unless the question was rhetorical, in which case no such mark is required or indeed appropriate. However, since the writer answers the 'question' with 'probably', he/she not only weakens the construction, but also destroys the effect such a remark is intended to produce in the reader. Focus for a moment on the word 'probably', in this context. Do you see how it is somehow quite empty of meaning; impotent? A brave attempt!

'The Code' is a document containing advice for Highsec dwellers; 'CODE. (CODEdot) is an Alliance of Corporations dedicated to encouraging Code Compliance, using a variety of methods. The correct term encompassing all those wonderful people is 'The New Order' or 'The New Order of Highsec'.

This, for clarity's sake really..

Drop your hate boner for a bit and actually analyze and critique what James said. Going LOLCODELOL you'll just look like a 13 year old in an adult debate.

I could agree with James on the effects of Fozzie-sov. I couldn't imagine any group living in nullsec without the organizational capabilities of the Imperium now.

But congratulations to fozziesov on sinking Nolonger a Coalition (dot). Our power is now unchallenged. There is no space that our arm cannot reach.

All that small gang content can't hurt the imperium either. With THE one and only large powerblock being perfectly capable of asymmetric warfare as well, any game design around buffs to asymmetric warfare can only result in a linear contest of strength that the Imperium is going to win anyway.

Thanks for quoting an entire post, and the preceding one at that, in order to reply with a single sentence.

I thoroughly enjoyed the spoken version. Sasha's voice is quite soothing. You should do audiobooks!

"The Very AFK Miner"
"**** and Jane at the Ice Belt"
"Where is my orca?"

stuff like that...

Edit: that's not profanity! it's a name! oh well.
