Astonishing news reaches Gutter Press today, of a raid by Federal authorities on a fashion house in Caille!

A law enforcement source said that the fashion house owners were arrested and several models were taken into protective custody, in a crackdown on slavery and people trafficking!

Incredible!

Reactions from Caille citizens and other Luminaire residents were mixed!

"All the fashion houses do it, I don't see what the fuss is", said a rival fashion house employee.

"Federal agents have no right to poke their nose in. This is a Caille matter", said a man in the street.

"I never buy such tawdry outfits", said a rather elegantly dressed socialite. "I much prefer the Coriault Couture Collective"

"Fashion slaves? Well that's just typical. I tell you, that Mentas Blaque, he wants to get down here and start batoning some of these people, I tell you what." said a local air taxi driver.

"This is unacceptable! I simply can not wear the same outfit for two seasons! Unthinkable!" said a different socialite.

Amazing!

Finally, some news that matters from Gutter Press.

Although I approve of fashion slavery, I don't approve of fashion slave slavery. If you get my drift.

Maybe this is why we don't get any decent stuff in the NEX store, the suppliers keep getting busted...

Amateurs. It's a good thing that I didn't waste my time selling slaves to them.

So if a rival fashion house admits to it as well, will they get cracked down on as well?

Also, I wonder if someone tipped off the authorities to put competitors on which they had some dirt out of business.

It's not for looks, I just have bad eyesight. I'd get regular lenses instead of these tinted pieces of junk IF ONLY THE NEX STORE HAD SOME IN A DECENT STYLE HINT HINT.

Is a simple nanite procedure not available to assist with your eyesight? I would imagine that your alliance would have the resources to invest in proper medical care for its pilots, but I am sure there is a reasonable explanation.

Alternatively... contact lenses?

I meant instead of glasses if Nanites aren't an option.

I know. I was implying that contact lenses are so... last millennium. There would seem to be nanites and implants for everything these days.

No nanites, but they tried a few different sets of oculars, I didn't like it. They told me there is a normal adjustment period and I just had to get used to it but they were pissing me off badly so I made them put the originals back in.

I've got a bit of a phobia about stuff touching my eyes, I don't like it. So no contacts, no nanites, that stuff scares me far more than the most frightening IGS-posting nutbar. Also, when the human body is subjected to enough concentrated heat energy, synthetic contacts will actually melt directly onto your eyeballs and fuse with them. I've seen that happen and it's just about the most revolting thing I've seen, ever, I could barely watch. I know that when I die and wake up in the clone I probably wouldn't feel something like that, but just the thought...

This is off-topic. I want my glasses, damnit.
