I have never had a socket closed in years of playing. Most common cause of socket closed? Another web program hijacking the port on a network.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

Just so people are aware, anyone using UKs VirginMedia SuperHub 2 NOT in modem mode will be plagued by Socked Closed errors.

VirginMedia have admited there is an issue with regards to online gaming that causes a temporary loss of connection, it seems to be due to the traffic shaping by the internal router and it getting confused with online game ports.

Simple solution, put the SuperHub 2 into Modem Only mode and use an external router, no more socket closed problems.

I use to when I was on 4g wireless.

I've not played for four days because of this issue, just logged in, don't even fill a hold when mining and socket closed.

Based in Australia on ADSL, two different users on the router.

I'm curious to see what it is, but not so curious as to hang around much longer to find out.

Isn't that special.

Good luck out there in the great uncurious outdoors.

It is CCP's way of introducing PVP to the staying in-game process.

Fight the network, fight to stay online, fight other people for their socket Twisted

Or

They are downsizing their servers and allocating just enough resources to the lesser used parts of their system and you are experiencing a failed handoff between those systems? I don't know, I am not all nerdy and shite.

CCP Quant: Of all those who logon in Eve, 1.5% do Incursions, 13.8% PVP and 19.2% run Missions while 22.4% mine.

40.7% Join a fleet. The idea that Eve is a PVP game is false, the social fabric is in Missions and Mining.

For as long as I have played EVE, it's been a thing.

On different computers, different ISP and even different countries.

Been around since the beginning.
