Hey.

As the subject of this topic is saying, i'm kinda wondering on what car you would buy if you have had 100k dollars to spend on one?

I'm wondering because i would love to see what kind of cars you would choose so i can get some ideas later on what car i can buy Big smile. I'm still far away from spending that much on a car, but i will eventually get there i hope.

In my case, i would gladly spend 80-85k dollars on this car: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8VFud7Y7s4. Here is another video showing the car: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T4xBJsWXBg

The car is called 'KTM X-Bow GT'. You can find more info about it here: http://www.ktm.com/x-bow/x-bow-gt/.

The reason i would go for that car is nothing more than driving experience and looks. You can get that car registered normally for roads (aka road legal) and you can also use it on a track and have tons of fun with it there.

And lastly, it looks awesome. If you comes driving with that car in the middle of the city or something, alot of peoples will turn their heads around to look at it. Not only that, but you can get a roof over the windscreen, side windows and the doors. Here you can see a picture of that: http://motocrossactionmag.com/Uploads/Public/Images/.....AUG%2014/xbow_gt_xtop.jpg

You can also get a 'Soft-Top (“X-TOP”)' to the car aswell where you can store the roof in and to have some baggage with you. Here you can see how the 'Soft-Top (“X-TOP”)' looks like: https://laluxore.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/31.jpg

Here are some pictures of the car: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Pretty cool stuffs eh?

But, you have to take some tradeoffs with the car. 1. No stereo in the car. 2. Not speed bump friendly. 3. Kinda noisy inside the car. 4. Limited space for baggage and 5. It's expensive.

EDIT: And just to get the feeling of how the driving will looks like in the car, this is as close as it will look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITU02fcyqxg. This is from the 'R' version. The only difference here is that you have the windscreen where you don't have to use the helmet and stuffs on the GT version.

I would engineer and build a new motorcycle. Likely a softail bobber. Another for my garage Big smile

...unless if I could spend the money on something else like quad bikes to get out to remote hunting and fishing cabins of course Big smile $100k I could buy a lot of such properties and practically have a different cabin location each month.

I'm in it for the money

If I had 100k $ I wouldn't spend them on a car, because I already have a BMW, buut if I am forced to, then Mercedes G63 AMG is the one, although I am not sure they'll be enough...You can go almost everywhere and you have to drop it of a cliff to break it, not to mention that sound Shocked

Actually, the KTM X-Bow GT version is pretty comfortable to drive. And it's pretty safe to.

You can see how the car is made here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xfcWWN4vUo

The great thing about England is that I get about on a bicycle that costs more than most people's cars and arrive at my destination before they do, during rush hours.

Audi R8 is an awesome car.

Now i'm not sure if you know who this is, but if you have been following a YouTube channel called 'Supercars of London', then you would see alot of videos around the Audi R8 he had earlier. Even the guy who is calling himself for 'Shmee150' did have an Audi R8 earlier aswell.

Both of those are from England. But i have had the pleasure of talking with 'Tim Burton' himself when he was in Oslo that does have the Shmee150 channel. He was in Oslo when the Gumball 3000 race earlier started in Stockholm. Here you can even see my own video from that event in Oslo. The video is almost 1 hour long and it's filmed in 4k resolution to :-).

Alternatively, if I had 100k that had to be spent on a car, I would use it as a down payment on something worth ten times more. Why? Because that and the topic are both bad ideas.

Aiming to low. The NSW Police wins.

NSW Police now have a $450,000 McLaren 650s

It's a promotional tool,..."help raise money for the families of fallen police and comes at no cost to tax payers." They're really going to do some good fund raising when they finally purchase that Gulfstream G650 jet. Roll

Tesla Model S. But I don't really drive much, so I'd rather buy a practical $20k car when my existing one dies and invest the remaining 80k.

Or buy an '87 Toyota Celica GT-S, and have everything but the outer shell replaced with updated stuff. Then give it to my mom, since I wrecked hers when I was in high school.

dunno where you live rain but here in the UK owning your own home is a very valuable commodity (too many people and not enough houses or the space to build them) ... since ive been in my house its almost doubled in value ...so to actually spend 100K on a car that will depreciate as soon as it leaves the forcourte is abosloute madness

unless of course its a very rare car that will increase in value ...but you wont be able to get one for a 100K

As for the house ownership thing in Britain ... it was a con.
When you are old and need care and support
the state won't need to provide it
because you can will be forced to sell your home to fund your care needs

which means you won't have a legacy to leave for your kids
which is how Thatcher initially promoted the concept

One of the GT86/BRZ/FRS variants.

The ~70k excess remaining? Some subtle engine tuning with just a little bit of boost (At most 100?+75? But nothing more), various accessories, and creature comforts. Custom refinishing of the interior In dark blue, with soft tone of yellow/beige/black alcantera. All logo's and branding badges completely removed. Nothing shiny or eye catching in terms of accents anywhere including on things like aftermarket calipers or exhaust pipes with tuned exhaust notes.

Alternates?

Something much more flashy? A Lotus Elise

Or perhaps a Classic MG B roadster.
