I see you have yet to differentiate between CCP marketing and what CCP is actually is capable of delivering.

Don't worry, after you have been here more than a year or two you will begin to understand the difference and how to read
between the lines.

OP should read: Waiting in stations.

do you also take this to be the next expansion? grab a clue and realize the 'between the lines 'bit you mentioned.

I definitely want some of what you are having, because whatever you are on to is off the rails, and is making me flash back to Zork.

There's a million angry citizens looking down their tubes..at me.

Link please? Title changed to reflect that.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Here's a neat idea:

CCP should create free-to-play accounts (it's a fashion for MMORPGs nowadays.)
These players can't fly ships, only live in a station.
If they want to change station, they have to take the Intebus Shuttle.
These players can only get the lousy jobs nobody wants, like sweeping the floor, cleaning toilets, changing lightbulbs, and such.
They can event put a space MacDonald's, so they can flip burgers there. Or be a bartender or something.
If they want to make money fast, they can prostitute themselves, of course. Think of something like the red light district from Total Recall.
In that way stations will be full of people.

I made a list of the ten most troublesome things to worry about just as the Mayan calendar runs out. This was not among them.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

Don't worry about that, they just ran out of stone or the guy carving it was retrenched during a recession. P

*If it ever comes to pass*

I am curious about in station security. I mean how long would it take before someone goes Rambo on the Jita trade spammers?

Woah. 18GB? You must've got a super special install as the last time I made an install it was only 10GB (It was just after Crucible launching). Blink

It requires 18gigs to install then cleans itself up to 10g

And I'll join WIS as soon as I can buy a knife for WIS.

Only problem is that they scrapped practically all of that work (or so it seems) because it wasn't :awesome: enough (or maybe too :awesome: causing it to implode on itself).

It was so awesome they wanted to make an even more awesome one for WoD but the result was so awesome EVE couldn't take it and it completely destroyed WoD. It was an awesopocalypse.

You know, what. That clip's the perfect metaphor for Eve.

Easy to overlook if you don't make the mistake of trying to shoehorn Windows 7 and Eve onto a 20gig Boot Camp partition Oops

With the help of an external, it's possible, but I had ~400mb left before I mucked with the partition sizes.

So anyway for lag in WiS, i presume that most of the hard stuff will be "computed" on your graphics card .. shaders etc, while your actuall avatar will just be a small bit of info being sent to sever in a virtual barren environment, along with everyone else .. so when the info gets sent bak to you at home .. it's again your graphics card doing all the detail.

OP is talking about server lag when you're in an area that has population in the quad digits like Jita.
[/quote]

But when you think about it, there's lot more rendering to do while just sat in station at the moment, than being sat outisde of jita - fortunatly i'm, one of the lucky ones who manages to avoid large trade hubs for now.

I hear what your saying .. i suppose anything with 1000+ playrs is going to cause some kind of trouble, but then how does PS Home deal with these problems .. thats a Hi-Def online environment with more than a thousand people online ... true sony have more cash to play with meaning bigger server etc.

I guess we will just have to see ....

Also PS Home as a 4GB install when it first arrived & since then it's grown considerable, god knows what it is to install now.

I want to see using the market in a station require you to talk to an NPC broker and there's only one of them. The herd of station traders and turds who just want to block the NPC in Jita 4-4 would be hilarious.

OP not really sure what your point is but why would you need a system wide public channel for walk in station?

If WIS ever comes out, they will probably do something similar to the incursion chat channels when you go into a certain area and they may have open voice comms for proximity chat.

That is what I meant, I don't want to have half the conversation about their expensive textures spilling over to Local. It would just be noise without meaning.
