Why are we shooting ourselves in the foot? Seriously.

I just did the calculations for mineral cost of making a hurricane. Even at ME 10, the minerals sell for 53M, and a hurricane sells for about 51M.

Like nearly every ship, millions were built at the cheaper prices.

Things take time to equalize.

Tiericide, the doubling of Zydrine and Megacyte usage, mineral fluctuations. Just build something else, although the BPOs are selling well.

I'm curious if some of this delta is null sec mining / manufacturing at a lower cost base? Does anyone know if the bulk of ships are made in high sec or low/ null and transported to high for sale?

It's not worth making ship hulls in null for the jita market. Transportation cost eats pretty much all the benefits.

If there is local manufacturing it's for local needs only.

You could buy ores in highsec, compress said ores, and ship them to fully upgraded null station for subsequent refinement. But at that point you will lose tons of money in shipping costs. Big traders done that in the past.

Also mineral prices started to stabilize only fairly recently. All aboard the Kernite Train!

This is why I do not build tech 1 ships, except under unusual circumstances (like mineral prices trending upward).

I have 5000 runs of Talos BPCs ready to go if that market changes.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

My advice - stop building this plastic based version designed by Chinese engineers, and start building old rusty Hurricane.
I know that empires forbid this , simply go to nullsec , where players are the law !
Don't forget to use old warp drives, as new one are one big mistake.

I thought all minmatar ships were old rust buckets.

Some of them are new rust buckets, some have had a extra coat of colourful hammerite slapped over the top too.

Something I have noticed also in Null, people will sell ships for 15-20 million below Jita buy. While it makes for an easy profit back to empire I don't understand there thinking.

Depends on the situation - could be a fire sale (someone leaving nullsec, or at least that part of nullsec, in a hurry). Could be someone inappropriately using the market to offer a discount to his alliance mates when contracts are better suited for this job.
