Cerberus feedback thread

Before CCP made their latest changes to missile modules, the Cerberus was in a perfect spot that was in line with the rest of the HACs. We had already diched the Ishtar's in favor for the Cerberus but then ccp made some changes to missile modules. Now you have RLML Cerb doing over 1700m/s and DPS of 500 - 600 out to 100km+. A HML Cerb will do similar in speed, dps (450-525), and reach out well past 100km+. Both have an ehp ranging from 50k to 65k ehp.

I am not going to provide a recommended nerf because I'm not an expert but from what I've experienced from this ship is that it does need to be brought back in line with the rest of the HACs. If you choose to reply to this thread please be mature and constructive.

The Cerberus is in-line with the rest of the HACs.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Its not even the best hac, far from it. It also is outshined by the orthrus pretty heavily.

I'll believe you on the hac part, but everything I was thinking about writing pretty much just goes to show how silly the orthrus and rlmls. I think I've been looking at this thread since it was posted just shaking my head the whole time

If you think RLMLs are bad now - you should've seen the originals...

which kind of bad are we talking about, and which version? also can't remember exactly which way they buffed/nerfed them after the switch from assault missile launchers to rlml. (lowered clip size and reduced reload time if I'm not mistaken, had a chat about it the other day ingame)

The Cerberus is fine and while heavy missiles do have range the application is still lacking, so it's all good. What is not so good is that rapid launcher thing.

Oh and pirate cruisers are supposed to be on top of the cruiser food chain by design.

They had a slower rate of fire but an insane ammo capacity (something like 60-70 units). And a 10-second reload time...

oh the super old assault missile launchers. yea but they had a meh rof. they were slightly better light missile launchers. Pretty sure they got a big dps buff even with the long reload timer.

To old EFT! yea maybe I am a file hoarder, so what!

old caracal got 183 dps with fury ammo and 2 bcus (remember when it only had 2 lows, oh and a kinetic damage bonus, so less dps with other damage types) -4 dps with reload factored in.
today's caracal gets 218 with 2 bcus and fury, and has 2 lowslots free with fitting room for more bcus, or nanos, or damage controls.

The tech 2 assault missile launchers had an ammo capacity of 80 light missiles each and a base rof of 6 or 7 seconds before skills and ballistic controls or ship bonuses.

I still have 2 Caracals with 80 light missiles in them, muahahaha.

Anyhow, the important thing for long range missiles is the volley damage, not dps.

My Orthrus' launchers hold 198 missiles each. I've never reloaded in a fight.

if I remember right it was 9 something, and given that currently it is 6.24 that makes sense.

and I had a gila with the old style launchers, that would have been fun to play with Twisted

not sure which seems stranger, using hams or using polarized weapons.
