You just tried to put me in the same group as the “hardcore PvP” set, and you keep trying to assign all kinds of opinions to me that are pretty consistently almost the exact opposite of anything I've ever stated.

So no. They don't fit, and no, I don't disagree with literally anything. I just disagree with your trollish and bigoted attitude. Because, let's face it, that is exactly what it is: you are prejudiced and you keep lashing out against all these imagined slights with such furore and fervour that you have made absolutely sure you have no idea what on earth you're even arguing against. You're utterly and completely lost in your own little fantasy world.

Maybe you should calm down a bit then. When you wake up, with a bit of luck, the hallucinations you're suffering from may have subsided.

If it were up to me I'd open up the game to a huge number of players outside of what I enjoy.
So why do I see you arguing against changes that would appeal to those players and why do you keep using a connection to those groups as a pejorative and an attempted insult?

Don't take it personally, he has a persecution complex (you can see it in how he thinks people care so much about how others play a game, a classic sign of paranoia). He argues with everyone and thinks everyone else is the problem lol. He's one of our GD special snowflakes.

Other might want to PVE all day, and sure that's fine too, but I think those folks need to take a back step when it comes to the direction of the game which is supposed to be about that 'cycle'. Stepping outside the intended cycle means stepping outside of other things too I think, and quietly accepting that while just enjoying your game (while hoping nobody comes along to ruin it hehe).
Why? Why should they take a step back? What makes the game any less for them than me or you? They joined to play the game in a way it lets them that entertains them, and they should be supported in that by the devs as much as anyone else.

Because they're essentially asking for the playing field to be changed just for them.

The stadium was made for people to play football, it's not right that those who want to sunbake in a deck chair should feel it's okay to ask for the football game to be changed, or it's players to stay xxxx amount of meters away from them, so they can tan safely in the middle of the playing field.

Your argument is basically that football is a **** game anyway and most people are playing it unfairly, so let me sunbake in peace on this football field, I came here for the afternoon sun it gets, not the game being played on it.

That';s funny. See, I have never come to these forum and declared another game mroe fun (Elite) or that this game is just like another game (WoW). You are the one who did that. And yet somehow, I'm the one who wants the game to be ruined.
Pointing out facts isn't ruining the game. Perhaps if CCP went to understand why their game isn;t as fun, it would go a long way to making their more fun.

Good for you. I like EVE (enough to run 16 active accounts), but it's not the only game I play. I play a lot of games so have a varied idea of what is good and bad about more games than one.

You think the community is 'toxic' (I do not, I think the community is REAL like a biker bar, or this fun outdoors activity, as opposed to the politically correct fakeness of others), so 'growing in a positive way" means being completely different from what it is.
I do, and all game communities have their toxic elements. The difference is that the toxic elements of EVEs community are driving away the rest, leaving it an undiluted cesspool.

Jenn aSide wrote:
No thanks. It's a good thing you like Elite so much, you have an alternative. For people like me, there is only EVE.
That's pretty sad, that EVE is all you have. Variety is the spice of life and all that.

Bad analogy is bad, especially when it misses the point.

None of what I want to see improved isn't already in the game, so it's more like it being a stadium where multiple sports are played, and I'm in favour of one of those sports that plenty of people want to see but gets limited support from the stadium owners getting more support.

It was actually a perfect analogy. You want a place where permanent highsec incursions happen.

Where nobody can be ganked running missions perhaps

Where you can play those sides of the game and others without interruptions or fear of non-consensual pvp.

Despite the fact that everyone will flock there for the ****-easy ISK and pretty much wreck the rest of the game as they do so, and despite the fact you still want to be connected to the rest of the game and have your cake and eat it too should you choose.

I submit what happened today:

I arrived at an HS Ice field with my alt.
I discovered upon arrival a russian multiminer surrounding his mining ships with cans.
Yes, even in this day and age, some people still can mine...

I immediately bookmarked the can cluster, and re-shippped into a Miasmos.
Warped back to the field and started running 8mil isk loads of Ice out of the containers as fast and as silently as I could.

After about 4 loads, the multiminer realized what was happening, and on my next arrival, he was there in an Armageddon (lol). Needless to say, barely locked in time, hit me a bit, and I scooted off laughing with yet another 8mil in my hold.

On the 11th run, he had finally brought his freighter and had loaded the remainder of the ice.

Look at how much content this introduction of PvP competition and conflict into another wise mundane and superficial PvE activity created.

THIS is what I mean as the NECESSITY of implementing as much player interaction, competition and conflict as possible into PvE.

It is what makes situations exceptional, creates and enables player content, which inspires and applies risk/excitement from an otherwise tedious, monotone, undynamic and completely unreactive PvE system/encounter.

Don't take it personally, but every time you start to get caught up in your own idea of your self and start to lose an argument, you retort with this same drivel. Doesn't matter who it is you are talking about it is always the same crap about someone being special, troll, snowflake, etc...

See if you actually had good ideas, they would present the rebuttals for you. But instead, you attack the messenger over and over again, because their ideas are not fitting with your grand vision of Eve.

The irony is, you are crying on here about being followed around by trolls, then accuse someone else of having a persecution complex?! Don't quit your day job (unless Eve is your day job).

CCP Quant: Of all those who logon in Eve, 1.5% do Incursions, 13.8% PVP and 19.2% run Missions while 22.4% mine.

40.7% Join a fleet. The idea that Eve is a PVP game is false, the social fabric is in Missions and Mining.

I didn't need to read the whole thread.

You make your overall stance and desires clear as day just in the past few pages alone. Perhaps not those examples in a literal sense, sure, but exactly those sentiments.

You're going to drag me through having to read back and snip quotes to show you?

Or are you just going to give an honest reply?

Because it is literally impossible to have constant PVP combat in this game, because of the nature of how things have costs and time involved. You must have strong PVE type content to fill the time even if you are a hardened Pew Pew Master.

It takes far too long to actually get a fight, and far too much cost to sustain a loss in said fights for this game to be devoid of PVE content.

As I have said in countless other threads, it is a balance that is needed. Something akin to WH space, where you have very risky PVE with great rewards and very hard but meaningful small scale PVP.

Someone like Jenn wants to talk about making Eve about Risk vs Reward, but I bet if you proposed removing local he would throw the toys out of the pram.

"Making EVE about risk and reward". Hello, this is 2003 calling, I'd like to speak to Market McSelling Alt.

You can remove local, as long as your remove cynos and gates too, or keep cynos and gates and make null sec pve more profitable than sitting in Osmon doing SOE lvl 4 missions.

Btw, who is talking about constant pvp combat?

Wait? What?

I complained about what? Ok, now you're going to have to post a link or something, I never said anything about being followed around by anyone, Lucas said that.

And here you are all ready to pounce, but get it wrong (as usual). You and Lucas are peas in a pod you know, especially the part where an underlying bias (and a deeply selfish outlook) are involved.

Not exactly. You just sell a plex when you lose a ship and go buy another one. *shrug*

It's what I do. Quiet times? I spend that writing, roleplaying or shitposting. I get more enjoyment out of those things, just personally, than any kind of PVE content.

But sure, someone, somewhere is doing the PVE work that's building the next ship I'm going to buy.
