Can't Pause Subscription

Hello,

I don't have any time to play the game, so I want to pause my subscription and resume it later. However, I went to the account management site, and I can only find the option to cancel my subscription, which means end it. I just want to pause it.

I don't have any time to play the game right now. Work, family issues, financial issues, computer problems, that sort of thing.

---

If anyone can help, I would like to know. Thanks in advance.

Remember, there is a difference between pausing/suspending something, and cancelling something.

---

P.S.: Can someone tell my old friends in the Universal Deathdealing Militia that I came by to say "hello"?

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

cancelling your subscription only cancels auto-pay.

if you stop paying your account will still be there, you just can't log in and play.

I'm not quite to sure what your problem is.

You can't store unused gametime for later use as far as I know

You can cancel at any time (recurring billing) but any remaining game-time on your account will continue to run until it runs-out. You can keep playing during that time, or not.

Set a long skill.. See you when you come back.

Example of what he is getting at.

Sub is for 30 days. He plays for 14, pauses it, then at a later date resumes his sub for the remaining 16 days.

AFAIK, no MMO has this feature.

EDIT: at least that is how I understood him...

If you already have pre-paid gametime for several months, there is no way to "store it", stop playing, and have the gametime there when you come back.

However, if your subscription expires and you cancel, you can re-activate at any time in the future and your accounts, characters and items will still be there waiting for you.

I don't know what MMO has ever allowed you to "pause" your subscription. At least not any MMO worth mentioning...

It's still a valid question. What MMO has ever allowed you to level up skills while offline?

You can't.

If you could, people would do that every time they logged out.

Not really, as it would (should) stop skills from training

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Sometimes when I post, I look at my sig and wish that I'd follow my own god damned advice.

... and it could maybe work only once every four, six or eight months and not be reversible for three to five days.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

In a MMO that is unlike EVE, e.g. Age of Conan / World of Warcraft / Warhammer Online / Star Wars Galaxies I'd be pausing it everytime I logged out and resuming it just before I logged in.

I might be able to stretch a months' subscription to a year that way Lol

Now yes, you can build all sorts of restrictions into it. But you just know there will be players bitching because they paused for a weekend away and now can't resume until Wednesday. Or whatever the rules are.

The current mechanism works. Don't pay for more time than you can afford to lose. Don't fly what you can't afford to lose. And you have the bonus in EVE of being able to train while time ticks away.
