PIE and the 24th Imperial Crusade Threaten The Disciples of Ston

Posted below is the exact text of a communication sent to Ston Momaki and forwarded to me by the same. We have been threatened if going public with the names of the person and organizations involved, but we cannot sit idly by and allow such threats to happen without informing the whole community. It took only moments after the Council of Elders convened to decide that this must go public without delay. No organization has the right to make such demands and threats and then to insist on anonymity besides.

24th Imperial Crusade Investigation
From: Thgil Goldcore
Sent: 2012.01.03 16:54
To: Ston Momaki

Mr Momaki;

I am to inform you that your Slave Maltruation program is to be investigated by the 24th Imperial Crusade. This investigation is to assure that resources within the Empire are not to be used against it. As such we will be looking for any connections to terrorist groups or supply lines to republic milita forces. Compliance is manditory and failing a proper inspection may result in millitary action.

I will be personally conducting the investigation and will expect a full tour of your facilities in which all areas will be open. I will be brining along a small team of spechalists who will also conduct a minor sweep of your facility to look for illegal activity. This should be a rather quick proccess and if you have nothing to hide, then you have absolutly nothing to fear.

You may publically announce that your being investigated, however, for security reasons you may not use my name or PIE inc. This is to prevent possible violence or loss of life of 24th imperial crusade personel. You may talk freely within your corporation, but if they break this rule you will have the same conciquences. Simply put, listing pubically or privately (outside your corporation at least) names of anyone involved will be considered an agressive act and delt with accordingly.

If you have any further questions, contact me. Otherwise expect coms from me to work out a time for the inspection. As I said, if you have nothing to hide this should be a rather quick inspection and wont take alot of your time.

Thgil Goldcore,
Divine Commodore of the 24th Imperial Crusad
e

Why are you afraid, PIE? Why are you afraid, 24th Imperial Crusade? Why are you afraid, Thgil Goldcore of making your demands public? Why would you demand rather than politely request a tour of our facilities? Why would you threaten military action against a pacifist humanitarian corporation? What is a “small team of specialists” who will “sweep” our facilities?

Our priority is the continued freedom and safety of the residents of our Matriculation Centers. Should we just let PIE and the 24th IC sweep our facilities just because you say “compliance is mandatory?” I must admit, that I am a little taken aback by the heavy handedness of this.

Your threats and demands have been given to the Council of Elders in charge of our Matriculation Centers. They have issued the following response on behalf of our Matriculation Centers and program. Please note that our responses will be public.

Attention
Thgil Golcore, PIE, and the 24th IC,

We the Council of Elders of the Matriculation Centers of the Disciples of Ston cordially invite one representative of the 24th IC namely, Thgil Goldcore, to be accompanied by one representative of the Electus Matari and one representative of the Teraa Matar to a tour our Matriculation centers to be guided by the chief Elder Gladius and Sister Elder Verin. All parties will be unarmed during the tour. These conditions are established to maintain a check and balance and to provide for the safety of those in our centers. If these conditions are followed, we are glad to submit to an inspection by Ms. Thgil Goldcore.

The location of the Center will remain secret and transportation to and from the Center must be covert. We shall not risk the safety either of our residents or of those who provide facilities for our use. Many have risked a great deal to help us house and care for those we rescue. We will do nothing that may implicate them in any way or expose them to military or economic sanctions of those who oppose this work.

Our facilities have always been open to neutral parties. Both Concord and the SCC have been invited on numerous occasions to visit and inspect our facilities and that invitation remains open and without restriction.

On behalf of the Matriculation Centers of the Disciples of Ston,
Feanor, Elder

I have to admit I had not thought of PIE as mere bullies so far. It might very well be that Ms. Goldcore is working without consent of the corporation, and wanted this to be kept quiet because of that. She is most certainly not speaking for the 24th Imperial Crusade as a whole.

Electus Matari is happy to be of service if the Disciples ask us to.

I would rather like to know who gave PIE the ability to speak for the entire 24th Imperial Crusade.

Oh. It's PIE. I had a feeling this might be the case.

As a member of a corporation which has been at war with them for five weeks straight (plus two weeks of which in which they brought in pets), I can tell you that you have nothing to worry about. PIE Inc. will not undock. Our operations have gone unaffected, much to our amusement.

Good luck, Disciples. If it turns out that they do indeed decide to fight, let us know. We might be able to provide some support.

Amusing.... I have to agree with Tib's sentiments on this, of my interactions with them, only once have they ever bothered to attack, and then only well outside of disruptor range which was rather curious.

In any case if the Disciples of Ston require assistance in this matter despite not really being primarily a combat corporation we do have some capabilities, and the Unofficial Master Kuvakei Fan Club would be happy to provide support.

It's simply delightful how this Thgil or anyone from PIE have come to view themselves to be some kind of authority in the fair treatment of slaves.

My time in Aegis Militia made me consider for the first time the plight of my own people, for it was only in witnessing this atrocity myself that I came to believe that it was an issue worth concern. It opened my eyes to things that have taken a while to focus on, and every post on IGS about some slaver doing anything just screams to me hypocricy and a frightening madness where anyone could dare see another human as property.

All your questions will and should have been answered in private. Making this public now makes this a far more dangerous process and may lead to deaths that where entirely unnecessary.

You never had anything to fear if your claims of being non-violent or purely humanitarian organization where truthful... However I now have serious reason to believe that your organization isn't. Saving lives in space isn't illegal... supplying military groups under the veil of humanitarian work is.

Any further communications or negotiations will be conducted in private.

Okay, let's break this down a little.

*You are concerned to the practices of this organization and demand disclosure.
*They are willing to disclose this information publicly, as in, all of New Eden.
*It's not okay that it's not just you.

You're not trying to protect anyone, you're a damned bully and not a very bright one now that you have publicly threatened someone for being too public about you being a bully.

I am rather afraid that once the genie has been let out of the bottle, it cannot be put back in. As I said to them in their other thread, the Disciples of Ston are, for better or worse, an independent capsuleer organization. They are bound by no law but CONCORD's, and those which they choose to follow. PIE's only authority over the Disciples is to declare war if the terms of their matriculation centers are not to PIE's liking.

However, the fact that you are now working to cover this up, and silence it, is particularly interesting to me, Ms. Goldcore.

As stated in the now public communication, I rather have settled this quickly and without incident if possible.

If any of you republic pilots are now planning on gate camping or starting war decing because of this, the need to keep it a private matter until it was settled is obvious and justified.

Interesting, i would love to offer my assistance in fighting these imperial dogs but i find myself restrained by current duties on the fringes of Amarr space.

I wish you luck however and hope they are sent screaming into the abyss if the drooling lackeys of the empress do decide to attack you.

Oh, I just bet it was. You got caught making vague accusations and issuing threats to a humanitarian organization, and now you want to hush it up and walk away.

I volunteer to accompany any inspection teams that visit the Matriculation Center, if only to show up Ms. Goldcore's feeble attempt to bully her enemies into compliance.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

Oh, ho, I see now. It was your own lives you were trying to "protect" with this "privacy". Now we should feel just terrible for knowing about your thoughtless and hysterical attack on other organizations and we should not even dare to think of acting against someone so just and righteous as yourself.

Here, I'll try to extrapolate an analogy for you...

It'd be interesting to see if this is infact sanctioned by the command of PIE Inc. Personal opinion of Captain Goldcore is that ever since she joined the corp (right from her first day with her big announcement) she's been a doe-eyed fangirl of her superiors, and this may just be another attempt to win favour, and possibly done without their backing.

If it IS with their backing, I'm suprised they didn't get someone higher up food chain to do the work, someone who might not completely screw up at the first contact diplomacy.

Well, I am sure it helps that PIE inc is already at war or red to almost every capsuleer that has thusfar posted in this thread.

So, in any case, if you wanted to keep things nonviolent, surely your corporation, wouldn't have war decced SHARE, would withdraw from the crusade, and cease all actions related to slavery or reclaiming, and wouldn't attempt to bully other capsuleer organizations because your cult might not agree with them. I mean, clearly you are party drawing the aggression of others, so the blame for all lost lives is on your side.

Teraa Matar of course will be more than happy to send a representative to accompany Commodore Goldcore on her investigation of your Matriculation Centers. We are honored to aid this enterprise any way we can.

Teraa Matar also recommend that PIE stop poking its fingers into places they simply dont belong. Of course, I want PIE to remain anonymous about this request, and not tell anyone.

Damnit Avlynka there's a joke here about having one's fingers in too many PIE's at once and I can't quite think of a suitable punchline.
