Ok, while perusing the recruitment channel, I came across a character named Dimirti of Goonwaffe. Ok, he goes on and on about how fun Goons are (which im sure is true) and gives me a Super-Special SPONSORSHIP CODE!!!!

- This links me to a tacky, badly formatted www.goonfleet.net domain that doesnt look anything like goonfleet.com.

Here's the funny part, a 500m anti-spy fee is required to join, which is funny and laughable. The point im trying to make is that I am disappointed in the creativity of Goon's; especially this Dimirti member. He is a toon from all the way back to 2006 and this was the best idea he can come up with. So sad.

Welcome to....well, forever.

Goons have been doing their recruitment scam for almost as long as there have been Goons in EVE.

Protip: You have to pay to become a member of the SA forums before you can join goons. That does not necessarily shield you from being scammed anyway.

There's a million angry citizens looking down their tubes..at me.

What's sad is how frequently this scam works.

Its kinda like the Goon version of Darwinism, if you are dumb enough to fall for this scam, you don't get in ;)

If it was legit, the 500m would be secured with Chriba or another trusted 3rd party at the very worst.

Haha, yea yea. What I really want to discuss is everyone's frequent interactions with Dimirti's slightly promiscuous maternal figure.

If this is recent, report it to CCP with timestamped chat logs so they can check their own.

As of this point in time, scamming in the recruitment channel is bannable.

Then again, usually the logs show nothing.

As for Goonswarm recruitment scams, I do believe it is required, otherwise they would not be Goons.

Is it really bannable, cuz I would love to do that. I'm sure I have the logs.

Nope, scamming in the in-game recruitment channel is bannable, they don't do this in the in game recruitment channel so there is no bannable offence here.

No, but banning one would.

I don't know what you're talking about I paid 500m to my recruiter and was promptly invited to Goonswarm. He even offered to jump my ships down for free which I found extremely helpful and kind.

The really sad part is, obvious as it is, he's been doing this scam SINCE 2006 at least and it regularly works. I don't think I could count the amount of, "Goons took my money and then blew up my ships," tear threads that go on in the forums through the short time I've been playing.

Had one offer me a 650mil a month rent on a system in Cloud Ring once. Unfortunately my attempt to reverse the scam didn't work so well. Got a couple giggles leading the guy on and acting stupid though.

Always surprises me how stupid people can be. They fall for this scam, the "give me isk and I'll double it" scam, the BPO scam...they buy newb ships as PvP frigates in Jita....buy bookmarks as plexes...just complete, stupid, fail crap and it happens by the second in EvE. I can only conclude that the human race is too stupid to live...yeah, EvE's made be a bit more cynical than I was before, which I didn't think possible.

Is it a cynical self-depricating humor that makes you post these lies? It's ok, this is an open environment Pahis...Please show us on the doll where the man touched you?
