HI EVE for many, Outside station fights or awaiting pilotes can be a risk to any pilot that sets to undock that in mind. A possible tool for any undocking pilot would be a live feed of the surrounding area of a station or a drone that can be controlled by anyone for a small fee or timed use. Not trying to take any fun away, but if it is a offer. It can be use full for risky situations.
1. Drone can be disable
2. Watch outside fights

Thanks for the reply's and decisions on my post. Even with many different views of this possibility. The choice of another option of viewing the outside world of eve can add a new awareness of eve gameplay. Maybe a limiting factor for space interactions it can proved others a new since of interaction with stationed players to the world outside they cannot view.
Thank you for the reply's.P

Meh. You can just pop outside and look as it is. I also seem to recall that there are some pretty huge technical hurdles in the way of being in two places at once, which is how such a thing would have to be constructed.

Also, F&I is that way →

You can also have an ALT or friend scout for you

...but still, Camera drones would have some very sweet functionality way outside of the the box as per OP.

Yes I can park an alt there and even stream the visuals to another monitor yet there might well be times when I choose/prefer not to have an alt char present at the location simply because of reasons.

Seems cumbersome compared to just undocking and having a look. P

I want a feed of the station undock in my captains quarters. That would be the only real reason to ever use it.

You have 30 seconds invulnerability timer once you undock as long as you do not move the ship, so scout during that window and dock back. Don't believe me? Try locking someone who just undocked...I am not sure if smartbombs will work though, but you should worry about that in null sec.

A distinct lack of imagination there !

Personally I might choose to use one or more on say some hostile staging systems, on some hostile Jump Bridges or even some strategically chosen gates when chasing hostile fleets, in fact anywhere that I might choose not to have an alt present.

The only thing that you can do without breaking the invulnerability during that 30 seconds is stop your ship (CNTRL-C). So undock, stop ship, zoom out, look around.
Is the surrounding not to your liking? Dock back up and hope that greener pastures have grown to your doorstep the next time you plan to undock.

Edit: Yes, Smartbombs do work. Big smile

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

No. This would diminish the sandbox content of station campers and wardeccers and result in less destroyed which in turn will cause further market stagnation.

I was thinking more about the difference between training a new character and logging it in, compared to just using the undock button — that one needs to training or multiboxing. P

Have been in a lot of fleets camped inside stations and this subject is always discussed ...people that say use a alt are missing the point and are tunnel visioned thinking everyone has limitless supply of alts .
being solo should is already hard enough why not just add 1 station drone camera that can be accessed through your TV that can at least show outside within 100km ....not include d/scan obviously
Basically being camped in station is boring and the ability to see outside is not game breaking and I'm unsure why anyone other than station campers are against this ..

Well, as long as the same point of unobstructed observation is bestowed upon other wouldbe tenants of the station you are at, I think it's worthy enough idea, if only the technical hurdles as mention before can be overcome. Having an LP/OP Alt of sorts is a simple yet novel alternative that works well enough for now, but that doesn't necessarily mean this is a useless idea. I don't see how one could abuse it (or at least any more than the next "Joe Schmo") as long as it's freely accessible without restrictions.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Yeah, Fair point.

I usually have the scouts out and about in the locality anyway though.

I think a cool variation would be a probe you could launch from a probe launcher that would give you a feed of its location. I don't know if it is feasible within the code, but it would give a lot of options for gathering battlefield intel.
