Battlecruisers: Projection Role Bonus

I didn't say they would and I didn't say no, just that a falloff bonus would go better with a Gallente hull. They are still different in tanking and speed.
Either way, both range bonuses would increase projection, so mission accomplished Smile

for Ferox, let it keep its 10% optimal range plus 50% role bonus. it would be same idea as Cormorant which do have double range bonus.

While im not opposed completely id like to point out a few items.

1. I dont want to obsolete the vulture, as it gets double optimal bonuses and shield resist bonuses. It does get a damage bonus though and different resist profile. However, if the ferox does 80% of what the vulture does, most people will use it due to ease of training and the same projection.

2. The ferox has a semi-tight fitting having to use 7 turrets. We can drop a turret or 2, provide a damage bonus and its pretty much unchanged, but becomes much easier to fit.

3. I dont want the brutix and ferox to feel the same, this might be a minor thing, but id like each BC to have its own unique traits (if possible).

If CCP were to do this and disregard my points, i would not be opposed to the idea, these are just merely my opinions. I dont like cheaper ships doing the same role as their t2 counterparts.

The only thing I disagree with is the falloff bonus for the Brutix,

Looking at a Heavy Neutron Blaster II (Null) your base ranges are 6300m + 8800m.
A falloff bonus would lead to a range of 6300m + 13200m = 19500m @ falloff.
An optimal bonus would lead to a range of 9450 + 8800 = 18250 @ falloff.

While it is slightly less range you have better damage application with an optimal bonus and it would then also work well with railguns.

Yes but then you have a Caldari Ferox and a Gallente Ferox - the Caldari Ferox can already shoot into long point range with null and the falloff bonus would better fit into an Astarte.

Look at the catalyst and the cormorant, the have the same optimal role bonus but don't obsolete each other.

Every destroyer has an optimal role bonus. The catalyst has optimal + falloff. The corm has double optimal. So gallente favor falloff bonuses over optimal.

@ OP

can you please start a Capital Ships thread...

I got my Ferox better, now I'd like my Chimera better :)

Dreads are worse off than carriers, but I hear ya. Seriously, with the recent capital ship nerf to entosis links it's like they have no viable purpose anymore aside from shooting each other.

Fixing BC's actually has a kick on effect on the chain to fixing Caps.
As currently the ecosystem stops at cruisers.
Once the Ecosystem goes naturally back up to BS, Caps naturally come back into it.
