Black Screen when loading Eve

Hi does anyone know how to fix the black screen when loading eve on OSX, been having this problem for a while now. The game seems to load fine to the character screen where you encounter a black screen you can still select a character and the game loads to the station but the screen is still black. I'm currently having to play via Bootcamp on Windows. Sad

Hey there, this could be caused by corrupt resource cache files. We created a program that you can use to verify the files in your shared resource cache folder. Please go to the following link:

https://github.com/ccpgames/rescache

Please download the zip file and extract it into your download folder. Then double click or command click on the Rescache.command and it should start the program. The program will begin by verifying the files in your shared resource cache folder and replace any corrupt files. It will also offer to download any missing resource files however these files are not required to run the game so you can select no to that question.

Should this not resolve the issue then please file a support ticket with costumer support.

Hi, I'm suffering a very similar problem.

This happened after the game froze and I had to force-quit.

On launch, the character selection screen opens displaying, in my case, random bits of other open windows tiled over all or part of the window. I hear the sound when the window finishes opening, and if I move the mouse, I can hear it going in and out of the character boxes, but the image on the screen never changes.

If I select a character, I can hear it go through the various sounds starting the game, but the screen never changes.

This has happened before. I previously fixed it with a complete new installation of the game, but I'd rather not have to do all that downloading again. I'd also like to keep my settings.

I tried verifying the files in the shared resource cache folder, as suggested by GM Mechanic above (https://github.com/ccpgames/rescache ), but no joy. Taking your suggestion and opening a ticket.

Has anyone else solved this? Suggestions?

I have the very same problem as you Astan, except my screen is entirely Black. I tried everything, from this link above, to reinstalling the launcher, to reinstalling the whole game. I opened a ticket 3 hours ago a received an answer telling me to reinstall the launcher, which did not help. And since then nothing...

I love to spend my free time getting white hair trying to fix problems i dont understand.. 3 hours of downloading, installing,r rebooting, so much fun. Plus, I am afraid to loose so many more hours if my settings are gone with the reinstallation if I have to redo all of it...

And yesterday, everything was fine :(

I seem to have this issue only on my main character. My alt can log in fine. I have used the rescache fix and it did not help. Although it did find quite a lot of files missing. Even after reboot of Mac and doing rescache again the station is black and I cannot get out of station. So stuck in a perpetual black hole it seems. I can see menu items on the left of game screen and I can talk in chat but still have the black screen mostly. So I am not seeing my ship. I cannot change my skill queue either.
