There is talk of a default already, but it's all in EVE mail conversations at the moment. I'll leave goodlady Smith to explain, rather than publishing private EVE mail conversations on the forum.

Update from mail to date

I think we should be having this conversation in the forum thread.

But from my point of view, as long as the interest gets paid I don't care if you have lost the principal. That only becomes a problem if you cannot pay the interest anymore.

So take your pick, default now, default later or try to earn back the isk. If you do earn back the isk (and if this was being discussed on the public forum) then we would be more impressed than if you hadn't lost it in the first place.

To: Bad Bobby, goodlady Smith,

Well, you know, it was an open ended bond so I wasn't really expecting my money back any time soon heheIf you wanna try and see if you can get back on top of it that's fine by me, I think. It depends on how much you lost of course... How much did you lose exactly :) And do you think you could earn it back in less than 2 months?
What do you think, Bobby?

Hi Dextrome Thorphan,
I'm confident that I can earn it back but I cant hand on heart promise when and I don't want to leave you out of pocket for an extended period of time.
I also don't want to see any of the investors out of pocket so if you think your going to end up short let me know and I will see what I can do to remedy (may have to be over time).
Again my apologizes this really is not the way I was expecting it to pan out.
Many thanks,
goodlady Smith

Aww, that's a shame. You have no hope of earning it back within the next few months?

Hi Folks,
This was a message I was really hoping not to write.I make a really silly mistake and as a result have lost a large chunk of ISK (typed too many 0s).
As a result I am:A) requesting either Chribba liquidate the isk or hand over the collateral to the investors.B) within 24 hours I will transfer 1B isk to Chribba to help cover any short falls (I don't want any ill feelings).
If it helps with liquidation I'm interested in purchasing the fitted Redeemer and Paladin together for 3.25B or close to.
I sincerely regret the inconvenience this will cause.
Many thanks,
goodlady Smith

Also was in contact with Amarr Citizen 155 prior to my mistake offering to roll the loan / bond together

Hello Amarr Citizen 155,

I hope this finds you well.

I'm contacting you with regards to the 5 Billion Isk Loan, I would like to confirm if you would like either:

Full payment of the principle and interest on the 13th (or before) or
If you would like to roll the loan into my open bond, details:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=442913&find=unread

I'm happy with either approach but am willing to offer full interest payment of the 3% on 01.10.15 if you would like to join the bond.

My incentive for this is simply less paper work advertising the extension of the bond and contracting items back and forth.

There is a couple of days to consider the options, feel free to ask me any questions.

Many thanks,

goodlady Smith

My advice would be to take at least a day to think it all over.

You have several options and I don't personally care which one you choose. But you shouldn't be defaulting until the date the first payment is due, since the isk loan is likely to be helpful to you in the meantime and it's going to cost you the same regardless of if you default today or in a month from now.

Given Bad Bobby and Dextrome Thorphan are happy to keep this open will hold a couple of days to make a decision.

Remember that we invest not just for our profit, but also to assist the ambitions of others.

I'm no less willing to help you now than when I made my reservation. So don't stress about me, I'm protected by the collateral anyway, focus on what is going to be best for you.

I understand if you just want to say "**** it" and default.

I would applaud your pluck if you decide to forge on and make the money back.

Have you tried politely asking for any sort of refund from the beneficiary of your mistake?

Worth a go. But if the beneficiary is a bitter old bastard like me he'll just lick the mail to extract the tears.

Repeat of email sent to investors

Hi Folks,

Having slept on this I would like to continue the bond, however I need to negotiate some changes with you.

1. In the event that Amarr Citizen 155 selects not to transfer from the Loan to the Bond I will need to repay AC and extend the Bond by the 5B of the Loan
Please confirm:
A) your comfortable with the extension of the bond
B) if you would like to take on Amarr Citizen 155's share if not continued.

2. To make the repayments more realistic I would like to reduce the Interest rate from 3% to 2%
Please confirm your comfortable with the reduction of the interest for the bond

3. To provide time to remake the ground I lost I would like to request 2 months guaranteed investment in the Bond - i.e. through to 1 November
Please confirm your comfortable with remaining with the bond.

Amarr Citizen 155 specific
While I had offered to transfer the Loan into the Bond and pay the Bond interest for 1 month I'm sadly going to withdraw that offer.

I do offer:
If you transfer from the loan into the bond I will make an interest payment on 01.10.15 (10/01/15 US Datetime format) for the 2 weeks between the loan ending and the first interest payment of the bond.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks,

goodlady Smith

A) Sure, if you can provide sufficient collateral
B) I could take on another 2B

Well... I prefer 3% of course lol but if you feel like that won't be a reachable goal for you, could we perhaps meet in the middle? 2.5%?

1. (A) I have no problem with the loan increasing in size as long as the collateral can comfortably cover the total.

1. (B) I am not interested in enlarging my personal share of the loan, but I see no reason why you could not find another investor.

2. I'm willing to go down to 2% if everyone else involved agrees. Or any number between 2%-3%.

3. I have no problem investing for 2 months minimum, I generally invest in these things for as long as they run for anyway.
