I have tried launching it from the .exe, and from the launcher. I've repaired, EVE repair tool is useless. Everything is fully downloaded. It says "launching", eve .exe pops up in my task manager but no window appears, and then after about 30 seconds it disappears. It attempts to launch it and then stops essentially. This is ridiculous. Fresh install. BRAND new OS, completely clean.

I had that problem on a fresh OS install. The answer for me, was to install DirectX fully and make sure it was checked off in the options. Dxdiag will tell you what you have currently installed, so it may not be your particular problem.

im having the same issue and it began just recently. ive ran repair, recache tool found 14k missing files, downloaded them, and once again the game launcher fails to launch.

I have to press the gamer launcher sometimes in excess of starting many launcher processes to get it to finally kick in. however the past few days it completely fails to launch


I have directx 11 and full installed already it doesn't get more update than that.

ran the directx tool.. no problems

the game alternate log in is the only way I can log into eve online at this time. even then on patch day that method fails cause I MUST use the gamer launcher to patch up.


CCP this really needs to be a high priority with this amount of folks having issues using this game launcher.

i cannot launch the game client using the launcher, or when i use ~/bin/exefile.exe
the client will show in my task manager, but not in my taskbar. This happened with the most previous update.

I have run the repair tool, recache tool(downloaded all files), downloaded the slim installer and attempted to recache again without downloading. Ive re-installed the client completely as well.

I have submitted a support ticket and it is now going on 5 days with no response. Im not super mad about it, I understand things happen, but if anyone else has had this problem and can suggest any possible solutions, im all ears. Thank you!

I had this issue as well on one of my launchers.

Closing all launchers (incl test) and only running the broken one, fixed nothing. Restarting it 10 times and trying other account fixed nothing.

Changing from DX 9 to DX 11 and restarting the launcher, made the broken one work.

But other TQ launcher is also at DX 9 and never stopped working in the first place, so its not my DX 9 installation.

Changing ex-broken launcher back to DX 9, restart it and it is broken again - the never broken launcher still runs fine with DX 9.

Similar issue here for the past few days, launcher starts the game and then goes black and sits there without loading the character selection screen until the socket closes itself some time later. Gone through the reinstall-repairtool-rescache ideals with no results.
exefile works to get into game with a non-steam account and loads the character screen properly along with everything else, but of course fails for me to access my accounts based of off steam
I submitted a support ticket and am waiting on any information from it

This morning I pulled up my launcher immediately after downtime, with the same issue, BUT
I went in the settings and used all Four clear cache options the after restarting the launcher attempted to Play, the game loaded the intro video and then finally went to the character selection screen! From there, I've so far been able to play the game properly

I hope clearing these caches work for anyone still having issues with the blacks screen
