Jump Drives should have warp strength 2

A scrambler will then be required to stop a regular capital ship from Jumping. This will make Jump Drives consistent with micro jump drives (warp strength 2, which require a scrambler to be blocked). Right now I believe a disruptor can prevent regular caps from jumping. So jump drives have warp strength 1.

Seems inconsistent.

Not sure on the idea, because Micro Jump Drives does not have a strength of 2.
You could have 1000 Warp Disrupters on you, and still MJD away.
Cap Jumps only being stopped by Scram/HIC/Bubble, not sure on that

I was just thinking that microwarp drives are blocked by scrambs, but regular warp is blocked by a disruptor. so maybes its not so weird that jump drives are affected as well.

I disagree with the possibility to tackle carriers with a crappy scramming noobship. OR, make it possible, and remove MS and titans invulnerability to ewar, so that we can go full ****** all the way.

(In case sarcasm isn't obvious enough, i don't support that idea.)

But hey, seriously, it's not that hard to have XXX Cruiser V, and the prerequisites for a Hictor are not that long to train either. The problem with HICs imo is the fact that it require science related skills, which are not directly useful for a combat character.

mjd only pops you 100k so you're still on grid, an actual jump drive will alow you to leave system so nope, the sake of consistency here isnt as important as balance

Warp scrambling/disruption is a matter of how many points of warp strength yo have compared to how may points of warp disruption you have applied to you. If you have more, you can warp.

The effect of warp scramblers shutting down MJDs and MWDs is entirely different. If there is an active warp scrambler on you, you cannot use either module, period. Your warp strength is irrelevant, and all of the warp disruptors, bubbles, or HIC points in New Eden will not shut them down.

Since Jump Drives are more akin to Warp Drives (both of which let you travel very far distances) than they are to MJDs or MWDs (both of which are primarily for on-grid travel), I'd have to say that Jump Drives should follow Warp Drive mechanics, which they currently do.

I think it would be nice to see an increase in warp core strength as ship size increases. I also think it would be nice to see different sized warp jammer/disruptor modules with different scramble strengths.

This would give larger ships a reason to be undocked and allow for some different fleet comps, and especially would be neat to see in small gangs.

Thats my two isk.

Jump Drives work more like MJD (Micro Jump Drive) that warp drives, they relocate your ships from point A to point B. Where Warp Drives and MWD (Micro Warp Drive) boost your ships speed to travel the distance.
