Are you behaving like an NPC?

Now, we know that most of the NPCs in eve are just mission agents: even some key characters are manipulated behind the scenes by CCP. (That's my understanding of it, anyway.)

But what about those 'Jita Bears' who stay perpetually docked in trade hubs playing the market? What about the researchers and vendors? In the traditional MMO model, those roles are filled by NPCs, but in EVE they are human players who just never mine, never rat, never run missions and would never dream of PvP. They are, in short, Nondricks.

If you follow that link, you'll see what I mean. EVE is filled with people who have taken on the traditional roles in order to sustain the galactic economy. But then I got to thinking: once citadels come out, could we begin to see lonely outposts with single players selling rare items? Could I get a invite to dock my cruiser at Slim Cognito's shack in some godforsaken wormhole system and buy some rare officer modules?

"CONCORD are the space cops. If you attack someone in a high-security solar system, CONCORD will commit police brutality." - Encyclopedia Dramatica

If EVE is a PvP game, then Anti-Ganking is emergent gameplay.

This is the only worry with citadels. Hopefully they'll be easy enough to assault that hub systems don't turn into that classic "50,000 market stalls" area you get in other MMOs.

"More from the players, less from the NPC's" is in fact one of CCP's goals.

We all play the game like NPCs but were only half as smart.
Shocked

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.

I have actually had people shoot me while suspect thinking I was an NPC.
Not new players either, granted I was in their mission pocket shooting their stuff and all
but you would think a character older than I would have figured out the difference

that's the other question, how many of those are alts? my jita character is an alt. Plus you can set an order and leave it on its own for up to 90days

No. Are you?

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......
