I, for one, bought into it and got a subscription for a chance to get into the beta, but also to contribute to the Eve side of my corp.

Also, those of you looking down on console gamers are pathetic. You're unable to grasp and accept the changing mediums of video games and how to be profitable within the gaming industry today. Don't want to play on a console? That's fine. Start giving people crap for playing on a console? You've gone full rtard, my friend.

Umm CCP you have a epic weapon in your hands call Eve and Carbon, use it well. I know what in the consoles the hackers have no choose but i dont know, make a stadistics what who have ps and who not.

I've played a few FPSs on consoles, and they're actually both fun and challenging at the same time. I just still prefer them on PC, because the PC's turning depends on how fast you move the mouse, while consoles have fixed aim-speed.

I actually sincerely hope I get that free beta key. It's been a while since I last played an FPS on my PS3, so it'd be a fun challenge as well.

Here my thoughts on the SONY PS3 and their network services offering. I bought my PS3 mostly for the blue ray player and as a replacement for my 3rd XBOX 360 that had developed the red ring of death -- again.

So last night I went and finally did some exploring on the SONY PS3 Networking. It seems there are two parts to it. The free to connect and access to upgrades to the OS and to the SONY store and of course lots of adveristments. Then there is the $50.00 pay to use network that has all the free trials and bonus game add-ons. So my opinion is that in order to get and test this CCP - Dust 514 beta you'll have to fork over the cost of the premium membership, which I for one will not be doing. Also, I found that there are listings for multiple levels of Aurum that can be purchased for use in the trial. So I think this will be going down the path of being a pay to win gaming plan. This again is not going to have my support either on the PS3 or in the EVE gaming.

CCP's sand box is EVE Online.  The sand is owned by CCP.  We pay them a monthly fee to throw the sand at each other.  That is all that is here, so move along. Nothing more to be seen.

I presume this has to be due to money from Sony as it's a lot easier to make a PC game communicate with an X-Box than a PS3. Just look at Skyrim wasn't it the PS3 plaform that had the most issues. I hope CCP chasing the easy quick buck doesn't bite them in the ass in the long run

Its only easier to run xbox-pc communication if both server run on the MS live stuff, as this is a closed network.

I know the PS3 and 360 both can accept mouse/keyboard combos. 360 will use any old USB devices (it is a mini PC after all)for the PS3 you need to either buy the SONY proprietry mouse/keyboard combo or an adapter.

So you can use a mouse you just need to pay for it, big supprise there.

just want to get some facts straight..

Has CCP confirmed that theyve done a deal with Sony? (if so maybe already too late)
but if so, how exclusive does Exclusive for ps3 mean... maybe theres some clause that says minimum 6months or something before they can open it wider. (i dont think they would have done a deal if it mean 100% preventing any other future platform expansion - if they did that, its bad :) but i dont know for sure.

Do we know why a deal was done with Sony?
is it that a pc cant handle the gfx? (probably not)
is it that a multplayer server needed to handle all the dust data was too big for ccp right now? (maybe)?
is if that xbox network is too locked down to be used effectively with eve private servers (from what i read so far about 7 pages it seems so).

Can ccp finance dust on its own servers and on a pc fanbase (i like to think so) but maybe theyve done what can be done currently (to give the game some momentum while focus takes plase on main eve, until they can expand it for other platforms (but again i dont know full facts from above)

CCp if you can read this, please check what can you legaly divulge and then divulge something more for us please :)

CCP announced like over a year ago I think that it is exclusive for PS3. That is the only console/platform it is being released on. There may be some advantage for them only doing a deal with Sony, IP exclusiveness or something and or maybe Sony is helping them out in some way that is very good compared to what others may have offered (Microsoft for instance maybe was a tougher sell since they charge for access to their networks, idk), who knows. I do know one thing, unless they have a reason for telling the whole world their inside business, they are not going to tell any of us anything.

I never played on consoles and i never will play on them..... and im sure many of EVE players are thinking like me.

If this is a try to get new console players on eve or whatever its a bad try.

I've been in EPIC HEAVY anticipation of DUST, and Don't care what anyone says... I'm Down for some merc'ns!!! Just really hopin CCP didn't go PS+ with it... I pay for EvE and I own a PS3, but really don't wanna pay for PS+ on top just to play the Beta...
