I noticed that very recently, the new weapons have gotten changes to their sounds. Overall I can't say I dislike most of the changes, but this is my complaint:

Most of the Autocannons don't sound very good anymore. I liken the smaller turrets to the sounds of... cicadas farting, or something. What have the Minmatar done to deserve this?

For instance, the 180mms had a much better effect back before Odyssey where it got muffled by an annoying sputtering noise. And overall, I feel most of the autocannons have a weird sputtering noise, these days. And I don't like it.

Also, the Valkyrie Medium Drone sound effect was changed to something that sounds far less threatening.

Autocannons just don't seem to have that threatening, yet ear-pleasing machine-gun "ratatat", anymore, and instead Blasters are given this glorious, bombastic bass. It makes me sad, because I very much like Autocannons, but these days I'm almost embarrassed by how they sound.

EDIT: Also I sincerely hope Artillery and Rapid Heavy Missile Launchers don't get this treatment. I've recently found love with Rapid Heavies, and I don't need it to be spoiled by some ill-conceived change from the Katyusha-esque effect it has right now.

The sound of weapons firing hasn't been good ever since they changed it a couple of years ago.

Worst of all is lasers. They sound so petty.

yeh the weapon sound * improvements* just make them sound worse now.

Hell the sound of them in castor was better...

I didint played eve back then but old lasers sounded great new ones sounds like farts, literally farts.

I must agree that both animation as well as sound of minmatar weapons are uterly pathetic.

And i cant shake feeling that mantra behind it was 'lets just get over with this'

8 second rof tachion laser have longer animation than 40 sec rof artilery cannon does.

Autos bullets animation is to short imo i would like to see it last almost full spin so it looks like minmatar vessel are one giant machine gun stuck in auto mode.

There might be performance issues with respects to a continuously end-to-end looping animation with any turret weapon (many mission pockets and fleet fights would be nuts), but it's an idea I'd love for CCP to at least consider testing.

I was worried that I was the only one who is bothered by these sound changes. Thanks for proving me wrong!

Lasers have it bad as well, you say? I guess I hadn't checked them recently.

Small blasters recently got a sound buff, they are good now - but yes projectiles are pathetic.

Aesthethic wise blasters are the best looking weapon, you get cool looking bolts of plasma while railguns look like weakass blue/white lasers. we need this kind of railguns.
