TL;DR, it's not for us to change, it's for them to adapt.
I think of it as the shittiest pub in town, you don't enter the pub without several friends and being armed to the teeth. If you want a quiet drink in a family environment you go elsewhere.

Exactly, and I think that's what 1000's of Eve players have done hence the dropping numbers.

It is like those crappy gyms with bars and weights like Metro. Very few people go because they like it the way it is, and another small group go for the hype for a while. Everyone has to pay X, but some pay 10X just out of liking the place.

You know that as far as paid plexes go, they could sustain the present playerbase for a while without no one ever paying another sub again.

And THAT is not declining.

So in other words it has no bearing on Eve Online and it was pointless to refer to it?

Gotcha.

Market trading in EVE is competitive PvE (which is what I wrote if you haven't read it). You are just sitting safely at a station and out of harms way, which is what competitive PvE is all about.

People may just not have seen competitive PvE and think I am making this all up.

I remember when CCP wanted to help Africa with PLEX.

The forum that CCP made to appeal to the Eve players for help turned very ugly, I was very dissapointed in the community, generally most of the player base said stuff like "**** them they can die" . You know where my convo is going and I can dig up the thread if you don't believe me. CCP were great for trying to help and I respected that.

Mods, feel free to censor me if my talk is too real for you. I have no problem with that, this is Eve online after all.

Some of you player base are nasty and you have affected the game, Man up and deal.

Well, you are wrong in assuming that it is CCP fault that players are douches. You dont need to be a real douche to play a douchebaggery rewarding game. What players do is their own fault.

And you are just doing inflamatory points without really saying anything that people dont know.

And you really need to get your facts straight.

I don't remember that thread, but given the fact that most of the financial aid that goes to Africa normally ends up in the pocket of a despot, people refusing to help further line their pockets doesn't surprise me. I seriously doubt that many said "**** 'em let them die" though.

What I do remember is that PLEX4Good has generally been a success when the funds raised actually goes to those in need, and not to corrupt officials that spend it on hookers and blow. In addition Eve players are not adverse to raising funds for the families of those that are no longer with us, or for players that have a need for specialised and expensive medical/mobility equipment that allow them to lead normalish lives.

We're not nasty people, we're realistic people.

Speaking of manning up and dealing with it, you should try doing so yourself where Eve is concerned.

You're also going seriously off topic.

Yes I agree plex for good has done great things and has raised lots of money for good causes. I'm not saying all the players have a nasty attitude, I said Some players do. I will find the thread and show you the nasty comments SOME of the players made.

It is accepting and allowing that has allowed said toxic behavior to propigate. CCP knows it and does not tolerate it... when it is reported. I have seen some real harsh stuff said an have reported it. No place for that in a gaming community. Can be hard-ass pirates without being a prick.

To re-iterate, I find those guys really... really sad... I mean to take such a hard attitude... over a game? Pretty amateurish if you ask me. Anything else, you are shunned for acting like that or completely banished by the pro community.

THAT is what I was talking about. I remember PLEX for good for that stuff in Japan, and the one for Maldives or somewhere southeast asia, but Africa I dont really remember.

What I remember is a thread risen after PLEX for good from a player saying she wanted CCP to donate money for africa because in iceland is full of white people.

Help me understand.

Because your actions are only ever aimed at the environment (the balls), never at the other player directly, would this be competitive PvE. Even when you manage to play the ball into a snooker position, where it is hard for the other player to score, does it not actually stop the player from making an attempt at a shot and to score nevertheless.
If you were allowed to throw balls at the other player or just to poke him with the cue while he is trying to make his next move then it would be PvP, because then your actions do aim at the other player.
However, it is still not that simple. If the players in a snooker tourney need to put up a lot of cash upfront and only the winner gets the money then it does mean that it did cause the losers a significant loss, and in that sense was the entire game really an attempt directed at causing others an actual loss. In this case would I say is it PvP.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.
