The forecast is: Rain is coming! (If it comes as fast as the Winter in GoT, then all the better). But its OK, I am prepared with lots of buckets, manufacturing them as we speak.

It's always good to rain Geckos. Poor little things die mostly to stupid haulers rather than in combat where they belong!

You're manufacturing geckos?

Nope, wish I could...but I can give you a bucket when the gecko rain comes :) I believe CCP will sooner or later seed them once again, maybe one last time...If not, I think most of us already have our personal collection.

I didn't think people would pay too much for something rare, until I read about the last Raven State Issue purchase. Few trillion for a ship, sure no problem, or a Nyx with 15 Shadows inside, which got destroyed. People will always pay for rare and good stuff, no matter the cost., just because they have too much spare cash. Twisted

they key point is "good" stuff.

a set of gekos in few weeks will double the cost of fully fit VNI or ishtar, and that will be the end of its mass PVP use imo.

Rattlers and carries will stil use it tho.

I've been sitting on about 60 Geckos since I bought them all for less than a billion collectively. Roughly 5X profit is what I could make selling them now, but 5 Bil for a stack of currently unreplaceable items seems paltry. At my main's rate of loss (largely due to lack of activity as opposed to skill) I could throw them on every PvP ship that can realistically use them and not run out before the game is dead. That seems like more fun.

He's just saying that so the prices don't get ridiculous, really doesn't imply much tbh.

After CCP Fozzie said that on Twitch, buy orders doubled and tripled, many sell orders disappeared, it's already too late to stop the price from going up. Question is how many Geckos we obtained and how much is the customer willing to pay...200 mil? 300? At some point very few will buy them and traders with 1000+ pieces will have a hard time selling them.

I sold mine at the profit I wanted (I invested a massive amount of ISK), after the reddit Fozzie post I still got slightly worried so I sold to sell orders at a pumped up price, someone bought over 1k Gecko's and ended up buying my huge stack too despite the tidy markup.

Good profit has been made.

What a shame that eve central was not working during this period.

I had a small stack then took a risk and got in heavy at 65 mil.

Happy to see where they go. Might shift 90% when happy with the price and then keep the others to look at in 5 years and go "ooooh".

The prices of Gecko's has increased by almost 40mil over night... Yesterday they were 86m... Today, 125mil...

and... I am sure that they will increase to atleast 200m before the prices steady out

Got 30 of them waiting to go to a new home :D

At these levels, its more than worthwhile to start sweeping mission hubs with d-scan and combat probes looking for abandoned Geckos.

I have recovered several dozen in the last few months. Explorers - GO!

Price jumped from 80 mil to 125 mil, then back to 105 mil, all inside of 2 weeks. Geckos weren't used in the AT (banned), so there are just as many now as before. Hopefully for the market there were profits made from the brief fluctuation, and I am still holding mine, but Gecko price speculation is going to be like those old Harvester mining drones, meaning that now that the flurry is over they are only going to be used and lost in rare situations.

In the case of Harvesters, I looted a full set on an unshielded POS takedown about 2 years ago, and never saw them before or since. (300 mil each, plus the Orca, faction BS, and other loot and ships was very nice.)

In the case of Geckos, other than flash-pvper's (like me) occasionally losing them stupidly (or in a blaze of glory), or in coordinated wrecking-ball-type carrier groups from major PvP types as a limited doctrine they will be non-existent on the KBs.

This is all just an opinion/prediction, but until they hit 250mil, mine are mine, and whoever kills my drone PvP ships.

they are by far the best way to carrier rat, and losses to rats happen occasionally, especially if you have to warp away b/c of a local spike.
