dominix fit ? for pve and ratting

Well i just got my domi a few days ago and im exited abaut it so i decided to try ratting and all that kind of stuff with it im starting softly with angel port sites and everything goes wonders till the gist cherubims appear and eat my armor apart so i have to warp away i have gallente bship in 3 and the following fit.

Adaptative nanomembrane T2 x 2
Drone damage amplifier t2 x 3
LArge armor repairer t 1x 1
explosive armor hardener t2 x 1

As for mid slots

microjump drive x1
F9 sensor booster thing t1
omnidirectional traking link x 2 both t2
100 mn afterburner t2 x 1

And for high slots 4 drone link augmentors. t2

No rigs and 400 on dps

5 bouncer t1
5 garden t1
5 hammerhead t2
5 warriors t2.

Do i change something i was thinking abaut adding a t2 plate or something.

Fit specifically for the rats you are tanking, fit rigs, for the love of God fit rigs,
t1 rigs are soo cheap they may as well be free and you don't actually need the skills for them, they work regardless.
Personally I would use one to plug the explosive hole and the other two for nano pumps but that's just my taste with PvE battleships.

OP - I just noticed that your character is only about 5 or so months old. Don't be discouraged with the relatively low damage output, as this will only increase as your skills do.


Also - the Dominix has a gun bonus. Use it!

It does it just says that increases drone tracking and damage.

Oh they changed it? In 2011 it had a hybrid damage bonus (IIRC). Oh well, carry on :)

Yeah the navy domi gets the gun bonus now,tracking I think.

After 2 (maybe 3...maybe) I'm not sure more link augmentors are worth fitting... Small projectile guns are light on energy requirements and will take out any scramming frigs that get up on you...

I like the look of the new Dominix, CCP did good, imo.

guns are still useful on the domi, extra dps is extra dps.

2x EANM II, and an Exp hardener seems like it should be enough. according to this: http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/item.php?type_id=24129 The npcs you seem to have problems with do mostly exp and therm damage.

could always try swapping to 2x exp, 1x therm, 1 eanm. I don't like dropping damage, but if you are forced to warp out that is usually a bigger damage loss.

my last suggestions are 1. Try moving around in the site, most npcs don't have very good tracking and will miss many moving targets. 2. Use the MJD to get out of its range and try and kill at range, bouncers are pretty long range. 3. get some republic fleet bouncers. you gain a bunch of range and tracking.

Since you are using Sentry set up you should fit Sentry Drone damage rig, than, nanopump rig, and prob a cap rig but i prefer to use xplosive rig.

In low swap one eanm for DCU (first aid kit) use meta4 armor rep and specific hardener.
All the rest looks good except AB which still better to swap with MWD and add extra dps in hig slots as it was mentioned.

Make a snipe fit and use shields. Angels have very short range and shield resits naturally tank against their damage

PvE is easy remember since you can fully prepare before going into an encounter. Think about PvE as you would a fight to the death against another player and do whatever you can to counter them.

Only Navy Dominix has

Train Gallente Battleship to increase drone damage. 10% per level
And Drone Specialization. 2% per level

Please note that both sentry damage rig and dda have same bonuses. They penalized if use more than one, either rig or dda

Sorry it's not in eft format, I'm on my phone so can't remember exactly, but here is a good fit:

Highs:

4 x 425mm rails (use spike ammo)
2 x dla 2

Mids:

Large shield booster
2 x invuln 2's
Mjd
Sebo

Lows:

4 x dda 2
2 x ote 2
Dcu

Rigs as fitting required, except t2 drone control range aug

Meta levels and pimping as you see fit, but keep as much t2 as you can.

I would modify it to this extend. But if you want better damage you will have to use bouncers II.

Its good to use PYFA, have fun with it. This can be useful when you want to see the damage to resist profiles of NPC.

Custom ship skins, character creator style "repaint". Bring it!

The Dominix with sentry drones is the best lvl 4/ PvE ship currently in my opinion and I have skilled into all the weapon systems fairly heavily and mostly maxed out. Even taking into consideration the last two nerfs to drones/sentry drones which were designed to fix the Ishtar and DIDN'T it is still the best/one of the best ships. There isn't a problem with this being the case.

Once you are better or fully skilled in its use you won't have any problems with it. I would suggest you add the following if you are able to financially:

A Damage Control Unit preferably T2.
A rig to increase armour repairer amount. T1 will do.
A T1 rig to Explosive resistance.
A T1 rig to add additional shield HP.
Mission specific shield resistance modules. If you can afford them use faction such as Sansha ones. Federation ones have the same stats but are often cheaper.
Use a low grade 'faction' large armor repairer eg Corelum. Will be under 100 million to buy but it is worth it.

Apologies for undetailed list of fitting suggestions. I haven't been in-game for a few weeks due to holidays etc.
