I am not a programmer. I don't work in IT. I know how to turn my computer on and double click an icon to get my favorite games to start up. Please don't expect me to know what is wrong with the game or launcher or know how to change files or directories or cache (whatever the heck that is). I pay a subscription fee to enjoy a game that you market and provide for that subscription fee. If I can't access this game( for 3 days now) why should I still pay a subscription fee. I cant submit a ticket because every time I do I am made to feel stupid for not knowing how to do the computer stuff needed to give details. The details are I double click Eve and it doesn't work. Reading the forums I appear to not be the only one having issues. Please fix soon because I am becoming increasingly frustrated. Oh and before you suggest something wrong with my computer I just paid a reputable company to scan and diagnose my computer for any problems that may be from my side. $100.00 later and not a thing wrong with my computer. Nothing was wrong with it.

The more information you give, the easier it is to help you. Simply saying "it's not working" isn't much to go off.

Does your launcher load at all? Or is it when you have signed into the launcher that the actual game doesn't load?

Most basic advice I can give you is run the repair tool and the recache too.


Both are in your Eve folder. This is usually in your program files.
i.e. C:/program files/ccp

In that CCP folder you will find both the repair tool and the recache tool. Just double click both of them separately.

Start by running the rescache tool, if you have the latest version of the EVE Launcher / EVE Client already. If that doesn't work or you don't have the latest version then fetch the latest slim installer (it's 97 MB) and reinstall on top of the existing installation.

So if I knew what a cache was I would be willing to try it - i tried what i guess is the repair tool on the launcher that is not doing anything and something starts but that gets stuck too im guessing. I see downloading patch on bottom of launcher that says downloading updates 20.29 MB/1.82 GB 0.8% . Bad thing is it has said that for about an hour now. I clicked the gear thing on top right and did a repair tool there but that gets stuck at intializing 1/7. Why do I need to be a programmer to do all kinds of stuff that you guys should be doing? Any other game I click an icon and shockingly I start playing. Strange concept I guess.

the folder u found the repair file to run there is also file named "rescache" double click it and see what happends once its done

didnt find repair in a folder - was on the launcher - wouldnt know where to find folders

then from there
C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\

(dont get alarmed, IF u dont have (x86) in the end of the Program files)

there is no ccp \eve - i bought the game through steam

Try here then:

C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\EVE Online\

Run the recache you find there.

if i just removed eve completely from computer and re downloaded would it fix everything?

I dont know if removing eve gets rid of the cache. Have you tried the recache tool? It's easy to use, right click on it in your eve folder and run as admin. Let it run through.

Said missing 13307 files - would you like to download files y/n - i picked yes and it started downloading but stopped by itself at 63 of 13307. now what?
